What is your loudest watch?

Doesn't have to be a Rolex.......in fact mine isn't.

It's my GO PanoReserve.........here's a picture ot two for those who haven't seen it yet:

I swear this is the loudest ticking watch I have ever heard. Sitting in my office at work, I can hear the ticking with my hand resting on the arm of my chair. At home, I have had sweaters on that covered the watch completely, and yet I still hear it ticking.

So, what is your loudest watch?

Never had a loud watch, Al....most of them have been Rollies and I have to literally ram the watch half way down my ear to listen to the rapid beat movement.

What, you don't hear it when wearing them in bed? I can usually hear sort of a ringing sound through the pillow when I have may arm tucked up under the pillow.

Hey guys,

Do you live in soundproof Sanitoriums? How on earth can you hear a watch tick? I mean, NZ is a very quiet place and there are some real quiet moments....like right now at just past 6 am on a Wednesday morning....and I can't hear a bloody sound from my smooth and silent Subby!!

Well, I don't wear my watches in bed, but can you actually hear your YM through the pillow?

At night I can hear the Sub also, It is more of a "humm" than a tick.
I do have sensitive ears. High pitch sounds drive me nuts.
The PAM drowns out the Rolex. I think she feels insecure being the "new watch on the block"

My daughter collects watches too. She has over 5O of them ( mostly Swatches, but a couple nice ones too)
I built here a wall mount for them. All 50 on diplay. You should hear that think TICK. Sounds very cool, because they are all off a bit, but they tick every second, so there is this rythmic sound eminating from her collection
.
I'll get a picture & post her display.

Must be the way the movement is inside the solid case.
I can hear the ticking with a "sound" that resonates from inside the watch.
I mentioned before, put your watch into a glass & listen, THe glass will amplify the sound.

Not only is this like wearing a hub cap on your wrist, but it sounds like a little machine gun when it's running. When I'm in bed, I can hear it ticking from as far away as my dresser

Hey, John....what the hell are you trying to do to me? My wife already thinks I'm nuts as far as watches go....if I do what you've just described above, she'll definitely call out the men in white!!

JJ, If she catches you, just tell her your giving your watch a bath. Then casually fill the glass with warm soapy water.

If I do that, then for sure the men in white will be at our doorstep before I can say the proverbial "Jack Robinson" !!

JJ, usually does something else in the bathroom that he uses warm, soapy water for. I'll give you a hint, when he uses his left hand, he really, really winds his watches

My Black Monster is a fair bit louder than my ExpII, and since it only beats five times per second vs. the eight times per second of the Rolex, it's a tad louder, but neither are so loud that I can hear them ticking in a quiet room. I have to hold them up close to my head.

Then again, I've been to a LOT of rock concerts in my youth... and then there's that constant buzzing sound I hear. Do you guys hear it? Besides, there's so many voices inside my head yammering on, listening for my watch ticking is the last thing I can hear.

Well, seriously I do suffer from tinnitus (caused by medications I'm on and the arthritis). As for the voices, well let's just say you and JJ are all on your own with that one!

My 88, with its modified Valjoux, is loud at certain times. I am a fan of hearing the rotor wobble.

Loud as in volume or loud as in "in your face"? In the second category it would probably be this dainty item next to my Sub.
