Tropical 1675 Matte Dial?

First time I've ever seen a Long E or early 1675 matte dial go chocolate. What do you guys say, easy bake dial or a "big-white-buffalo" of 1675 matte dials?

It still looks fairly black to me, more black than brown. They do go tropical and this one here appears to be a legitimate tropical, or semi-tropical dial. The tropical GMTs are not common at all.

Oven-baked tropicals will turn the fonts yellow.

Here are a couple photos of the only tropical that I have owned. It is hard to judge GMT tropicals by photos, but the photo below did have a brownish tint to the dial, not heavy like some , but it was definitely there.

Yeah, I don't even bother to process the price and just dismiss it as the usual silly eBay pricing.

In any event, that dial is as brown as any Long E gets as far as my eyes have seen. I would've even have said that MK1s simply don't go tropical (water damaged dials aside), but I guess that's wrong.

If anyone has a MK1 or image of one that has gone tropical (brown), I'd love to see it.

The dial shown by John (springer) to me is not a real tropical IMO. Maybe a bit colour-change caused by moisture or so... I would call it "Muddy-Dial" (no offence, John)

Only a few MKI dials turn brown/tropical.
There are so many different types of MKI dials, depending on the time they were produced. Dark black, more grey, brown (colourchanged) different structures, mixtures and colours of lume.
There are some real nice MKI tropical out there and the one in the ebay-link is a very nice example IMHO! Great brown, great case. (No, I'm not the seller and I'm not related to him/her).

Already held 3 MKI tropical in my hands personally.
My observation is that there must have been a small batch of ONLY MKILongE Dials that turn brown in the 1.8 to low 2 Mio. series. The lume is applied very thick, rough and uneven. All watches I saw had this "lume-structure" and the lume was always very light cream.
Concerning the price: 2 or 3 years back there came a loud scream, when a super 1675 MKI tropical was announced on german r-l-x forum for I think 12 or 14K Euro.
Now prices are from 16k and up up up up....depending on case-condition and how tropical it turned.

Yeah, my Long-E is what I'd describe as a charcoal grey (1.8m). Thanks for the input, Seb!
