Need help on this Red Sub
Hello:
I need advice on this 1680 Red Sub, it is advertised as 3.2 million case number, dated 1974. My question is if the case number fits the dial? More importantly, does the case look legit to you. I am a bit concern at the crown area... I am not sure if it has the correct [ ] shape from the archive. Any help comments is much appreciated! Serial and dial match, MK-5.
Crown's look is due to polishing. Appears case back is for a 5512, not the best of pics.. Hopefully good seller.. |

Caseback is not for a 1680, stamped for a 5512.

The dial looks good to me, MK5, with homogeneous patina! As noticed, the case back is wrong.
Also, the bracelet is incorrect for the period, it should be the 9315 and not the 93150. I am not a specialist in serial numbers, but I have a Red Sub with papers and receipt that is a 3.7xxx serial and is a MK6 dial, so i guess your serial is correct for a MK5 dial. Here is mine
