1675/3 faded bezel: a question

Hi to everybody,
I'm the proud owner of two Rolex "modern" references (16623 t/t blue dial and 116710LN), but I'm abolutely not a vintage expert.
I'd like to buy a 1675/3, and a local seller here in Italy (he already sold me a Tudor some time ago, and is considered a serious seller) offered me this "nipple dial". Request is reasonable.
In a few days I'll be able to see this 1675/3 personally, but till that moment I only have these two pictures he sent me. The seller says this 1675/3 is completely original (dial, bracelet, clasp, bezel, ecc), and that the discoloration of the fonts (originally golden in the 1675/3 and 1675/8 bezels, now almost silver) may happen after 45 years, as the insert was probably never changed.
Whay do you think about?
Thank you for your opinion, and sorry for the pics low quality.

Marco

Some of these watches originally came with silver numbering and some with gold. This is a silver one, not a faded gold one as your seller claims.

Welcome to the Forum!

I would not let an insert stop a good purchase. It is still a very nice insert. You can always sort another one if it is not to your liking!

Thank You for your advice, TimetoGo.
Actually the seller offers me the option of a new insert with gold fonts, but is giving the advice to me to keep the old one...

What is the purpose of the sticker on the back? I have always wondered why sellers do this? Maybe to differentiate between their stock and a customers watch?

I personnaly use such stikers to avoid scratches on the case back (when unwear, scratches from the clasp touching the back)

Some watchmakers place them after service.

Others use them to give the impression they have been serviced...
