I love it. Personally like the SS more than the TT YM II.
I was debating a YM II but decided that ill get an AP for a couple more thousand as i dont have an AP yet. But for a sports watch that has some "flash" to it. You cant beat it for the price.

I'm a fan...glad they put the ceramic bezel on it.
Hated the Yacht-Master II on the bezel but it doesn't stick out as much as you'd think. Kind of like the "Ring Lock System..." noise on the Deep Sea. |

Not a fan. I think the Yachtmaster models - both I and II - are silly watches.

Regardless of the metal composition, it's a love hate attitude, but, if you like it, that's all that matters!!
I personally enjoy wearing mine...

I wanted to like it, but after seeing it in person, I was turned off. It's too busy and I don't think it will be around for much longer.
I really dislike watches that have the model name on the bezel in such huge letter.

I like it a lot in YG. I think the WG is the model really not seen much here.

When I was racing Hobie Cats, a sailing watch was critical in timing the start of a race. It was also useful in timing tacking legs. I couldn't even dream of a Rolex sailing watch then, but there were far cheaper alternatives.
I wonder how many of these watches are used for their intended purpose. |

I find the watch very attractive to look at. I am not sure how useful its functions are and at it's price point I'd find a true chronograph like the Daytona maybe more practical. It has a very interesting nautical look especially in the two tone.

You both raise good points. The function of the watch likely serves little to no purpose for most owners.
Esthetically though, I love its look and wrist presence. It wears large, unlike most rolexes. Although I own the YG piece, I enjoy it enough to consider the SS. The white face and the blue bezel pop. JPS

The SS YM-II is my current grail watch. I've had it on and love it.

I tried it on at the AD and fell in love. That and the DSSD are the only sport rolexes a bigger guy like myself (who typically wears pams) feels comfortable with. The 40mm cases just seem to disappear on me.

I like it. It's definitely a busy watch and a bit flashy, but I'd get one....but I'd prefer the yellow gold version. I definitely wouldn't want the TMII to be my only watch, though---I would get sick of it if that were the case.

I love that that movement is a horological masterpiece. I love the overall look of the watch and find it strikingly beautiful.
Unfortunately I have zero need for that complication, I can't tell the time when looking at the dial, and most of all I'm unwilling to drop that kind of change for those positive qualities. It looks great in pictures but I'd never own one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Love it. SS is my metal of choice, but the TT and the YG are magnificent specimens as well.

Yachtmaster II in SS - any love for it?
For me, it's a tie between the SS YMii and a 50th aniversary sub (y or f serial) as my "short term realistic grails"... If given the option and at the same price, I personally would choose the SS over the TT (now if they made a yellow gold TT instead of the RG TT, it may cause pause). I definitely think it's a great looking watch on my wrist and plan to own one someday. (One more caveat, I do like many of the "polarizing" watches (YM, YMii, Milgauss, DSSD).)

I like all the YM II's. Particularly the yellow gold. I had the two tone for a stretch and dug it. Was going to get the SS model but found it wore kind of blah on me and was more enamored with getting my first submariner. My tastes change pretty quickly with Rolex in a unipolar. I continue to like what I've always liked and over time, what I didn't like grows on me. By now, I'm sure I'd love the YM II in SS.

There isn't that much differential in price between the SS and the TT. I would have the RG TT.

I love the YM, but the YM II.... Just not for me.... In ANY metal. (IMHO) It is just too large and too busy. But hey, those of you that have/desire: More power to you.

I guess the owner needs to be reminded constantly he is wearing a Yacht Master! So that he doesn't confuse the watch with his Sub-C? Why they would have the name there is quite strange.
Maybe the marketing department overruled the design department?
