I sold mine this month as kind of got bored of it. Felt it looked better in the pictures. Now that it's gone wondering whether it was a dumb move as I think I now miss it

Mine is not a year old, but it's been a little while.

And it's a magnificent watch. Incredibly comfortable. Nice heft, but super balanced. The curved lugs are really awesome. The dial, super. The strap and clasp, super. The bezel is out of this world. By far my favorite part of the watch.

I get comments all the time. You may or may not care for that. I'm ok with it. Mostly because it's typically, "wow, that watch is beautiful. What kind of watch is that?" And then, "I never would have guessed it was a Rolex".

Did I mention the matte dial and bezel. Seriously, it's a great watch.

Would I ever flip it? I never say never, but it would have to a really nice watch that I'm trying to fund. its just that nice.

I just posted in the other YM thread about how I love that Rolex has diversified this line. I am not yet sure how I feel about this particular reference. I find the rubber strap a little too sport for a refined case. In complete fairness I have yet to handle the watch and find that I usually end up loving every Rolex I eventually get my hands on.

I'd also like to know how the OysterFlex felt on each wrist.
Looks are one thing, but comfort with a new innovation is interesting.

Comfort was first class. It fitted snugly as it is a heavy watch.

I'd figure it was pretty top-heavy, given the difference between the weight of the case and the weight of the strap. Did it wiggle a lot on the wrist?

I have a rather large wrist. Each Oysterflex bracelet has 3 settings to it. My AD happened to have this YM with the biggest band. He set it to the 2nd (middle) notch, and it fit perfectly--just slightly loose, but not rotating on my wrist. I loved it. I want to get it soon.

I tried one on a few weeks ago and did NOT want to take it off (but didn't have $25k to keep it on either)

Beautiful and super comfortable

I am waiting to see what secondary prices will do...the full gold Rolex models drop nearly half of retail so I wonder if this shouldn't see $14,000 secondary price.

For me $25k retail is a lot for a rubber strap

Yes for now. If you consider the pricing of the 116515LN, which I consider a proxy for this watch, you might opine it could get down to ~15,600 LNIB.

LNIB 116515 (18,000/28,800 msrp) = .625 x 24950 = 15,593

Sure it has the monopoly on oysterflex for now but the daytona has the advantage of well, being a daytona.

Yeah I have a lead on a mint unused for $19,800 but like I said my thoughts are if a WG Daytona can be had for $17,000 (near half retail) why won't this model get down to near $14,000 in due time.

Not to mention, you can get a new YG GMT with green or black dial for only $5k more... That's solid gold + an extra complication.

Let's be honest guys: Can this model YM sustain its current MSRP? Considering it's been kind of a dud, every single AD always has one, and the fact that Rolex will eventually offer the Oysterflex in other models, do you think they'd just kill it off before lowering the MSRP?

I don't think it can sustain the $25,000 MSRP. I also don't see how Rolex could drop MSRP on an existing model...maybe the dealers will quietly start to heavily discount them.

Don't hokd your breath on rolex lowering the msrp. I'm almost certain I could get one for 18k from my AD. I think new ones will hover around that number and preowned will fall to 15k.

It's great, you'll love it! You could also consider the 38 mm version if it doesn't wear small, shave off a few g there.

The only thing I'm waiting for is Basel '17. As Rolex, in true form, didn't offer any other models in the Oysterflex this year, I want to wait until March just to see if they expand its usage. I can't see them not using this strap on other pieces, but I think they want at least 2 years of solid feedback first... Who knows!?

I love this watch, the CEO of my company has it and every time I see it, it just glistens and the contrast with the Matte black is awesome... Ultimately though when I realized I could have a new Black Daytona-C and a YM Blue Dial for the same price I decided no go on the YM RG....

I wonder why they didn't make the band curve to the watch like the bracelets do with the end-link. I think it might look better if they did.

For a cash deal on a new one (40 mm), I was able to negotiate $19.6k at my AD. That's out the door. Also would be my 4th Rolex purchase if I went ahead with the deal, so maybe that helps a little.

The only negative about this watch that I see (for those of us who like it) is that it is overpriced, even at $19.6k... It's just a rubber strap that's raised off the wrist slightly, with a strip of titanium going through it--like, who cares? To me, there's nothing ground-breaking about that. On the flip side, I do like the fact that it's the only model with Oysterflex from the factory, as I like the more unusual pieces from Rolex.

Beautiful watch, but too pricey for a watch on a rubber strap, in my opinion. As many have said, I think if it came with a metal bracelet then the pricing would be more appropriate. Aloha, Tim

I love it. If they offered it on a everose oyster like the Daytona it would be a winner even more i think. Would be great to have to option of switching between sports and casual
