BLNR + Daytona White(?) or Black(?)
I was fortunate to attend another Rolex Basel 2016 event...this time with the primary goal to see which Daytona ceramic color I really wanted to have...(I know these are mock ups but it was all about getting a "feel" for the Daytona)
Brought my BLNR as companion piece to see what was the best one-two punch! Never hurts to try on whenever the opportunity presents itself as it will be years (if ever) a Daytona white/black ceramic will sit in a display case for someone to try on :) 1) When new Daytonas were announced at Basel - I said for sure I'm getting WHITE 2) When I saw tried it on for the first time - I said 50/50 WHITE/BLACK...can't decide....oh no!!! 3) When I tried on tonight - 60% black (having a BLNR black + black Daytona = cool!) - although having a BLNR + white daytona is nice contrasting cool combo too The tide is slowing turning to black! But still tough descision I suppose these are good problems to have... |

To me I gravitate toward the white on the 116500.... I like the black better in 116520. With your blnr I'd definitely do white.

I wouldn't be concerned about how they match side-by-side, as you'll never wear them together anyway. More important should be the one you prefer by itself.

I'm with Adam on this one ... I have a BLNR and I'm leaning towards the black dial myself ... It doesn't matter on if you need a White dial or not ... Do you really want and like a White dial is the question ??? Every time I look at a nice white dialed watch and try it on the honeymoon is over while trying it on... White dialed timepieces just seem to wash out instantly for some reason . Basically meaning it loses Its luster very quickly and becomes old and boring ... IMHO Best wishes ... |

If I did not have a BLNR, I'd probably get the Black. If I already have a BLNR, I'd probably get the White. And lastly, if you any other White dialed watch, I'd get the Black.

Get either white or black Daytona 500, which is available for you from your AD. Then you can start to think keeping or flipping it.

I like the white. I also have a BLNR, but it did not factor into the equation.

I had seen all the photos and had my heart set on the white dial DaytonaC !!!!!!!!
Today I went to the AD and saw the whole 2016 display model range. Well you wouldn't believe it................... The black dial is super awesome, it is so sparkling, it completely eclipsed the white dial Daytona C. Don't tell anyone, but the black dial Daytona C is the shisnits!!!!

Full disclosure have not seen them in the flesh .... But in pictures the white dial appears more readable to me, and that is paramount for any watch, especially the Daytona (with its busy dial).
