First AP. 15400 black or 26470 navy. Please help me decide!
I'm pretty much set on my next purchase and I think it's come down to one of the following two. The Royal Oak 15400 black vs. ROO 26470 in navy blue with the rubber band.
The plan is to sell my sub partially help fund the AP. I'll be keeping the rest of the collection. The biggest decision is between these two AP. Which one would you go for and most importantly why? I find this decision very hard to make. I like both watches and feel like I can pull it off on a 6.5 inch wrist. Comments are very much appreciated.

Both are great watches. The ROO is more sporty and bulky and has more wrist presence. The 15400 is more of a dress watch that goes great with a suit or a formal occasion. The RO bracelet is to die for. I like both so I own one of each.

Navy ROO for me but don't rule out the diver. It's a great piece.

Thanks! Could you elaborate on the AP bracelet? What do you mean by "its to die for" I've only worn only the Rolex oyster bracelets. How would you compare it to that? I'm thinking which one would be better for me in the long run. Anything I should be aware between these two movements?

The RO bracelet is 180 degree turn from the oyster. It's a scratch magnet as it has both brushed & polished surfaces. But if you don't mind the hairlines it's absolutely worth having. It's a work of art as its hand made and the light reflects off it spectacularly. Just google images of it and you'll get an idea. Both are in house movements and both have proven to be very reliable. Here's a shot of mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great wrist shot! How's the comfort of the bracelet? As the links are more clustered and smaller in size do they pull hair or scratch the skin?

Thanks ! The bracelet couldn't be more comfortable. No issues whatsoever. I definitely endorse the 15400 over the ROO. The bracelet for the win ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I may ask. What's your wrist size? Any issues wearing the bigger size ROO vs the 15400?

Have you tried them on yet?
At 6.5" you may have lug overhang on both of the references you mentioned. That sub in your avatar is going to wear smaller than either of those. |

My first AP was an older black themes but found it to be just a bit too bulky, more sporty and less versatile for me. And the since this was the older style deployment buckle, not as comfortable as the new models with the pin buckle.
Now I have the 15400 as my one and only AP (for now hopefully) and I could not be happier. The most well balanced watch I've ever owned both in how it wears and how it looks. And the bracelet...head and shoulders above the oyster on my sub ceramic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would pick the RO over the Blue ROO, but I'd take the Grey ROO over the 15400.
The 15400 will wear the same as your Sub, and Pix can't show how beautiful the RO bracelet is. though I agree, there are lots of great wrist shots of them, you just have to see and hold it to appreciate it. Have you tried these 2 on? If possible, that's your best bet and decide form there. |

Have you tried both on?
I find the 15400 to be great for casual wear and it dresses up nicely. Quite versatile. Agree that the bracelet is out of this world. The dial is stunning. But nothing looks as good as when it's on your wrist. Good luck with the decision! Honestly can't go wrong either way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for all the responses guys.
I'm easily swayed either way but you guys bring out a good point. The size of both watches on my wrist. I've tried the 15400 but not the 26470. Too bad I forgot to take pics of it when I was at the AD the other day. Hopefully I'll be going there once again and taking pics of both of them on my wrist. I do feel like the new ceramic sub is a watch I can handle but maybe nothing beyond that. Let's see. As for the movement. Are both these watches in house calibers?! Or not?

I prefer the 15300 or a 15202 over a 15400. In this case go Navy

ROO: 3126/3840 = 3120 + Dubois Depraz chronograph module As such ROO is not fully in house, outsourcing its chrono module. I wouldn't let it stop you though. The chrono module and its added thickness are part of the ROO history at this point |

i think it depends on the use case. i have a 15400 but only wear it to the office - so it does get plenty of wear.
for weekends when theres more chance of scratching with other activities, im thinking about getting a ROO - diver maybe, as i just know i'll scratch up the 15400 bracelet faster. |

I'll always pick a RO over the ROO. There is a soft spot in my heart for the ROOs though. I'd pick whichever one I thought went best with my normal daily attire.

Mine does every now and then, not really a big deal. It's an amazing bracelet. My only grip is no micro-adjustment. I have a 1.5 link, but even with that sometimes it's hard for me to get a perfect fit.
