AP Movement issue

Today I have found out that my ROO grey theme has stopped running even though it has been on winder.

I took it out and winded it 50 times. It started running and I played around with the chrono. It stopped around 10secs. I tried again and this time it stopped around 45secs. I tried the 3rd time and it stopped around 4mins.

I just tried the 4th time and it is now 30mins and still running.

Whenever it stopped, the second hand also stopped! Has anyone encountered this problem before? I am quite reluctant to send in for 3-4 weeks as this watch is only one month old..

Seems like there is an issue with your chronograph module.

Best to bring the watch to APSC for detail check.

Had the same problem with my black/red. I had it serviced at APSC and they returned it 6 weeks after. They said they replaced the chronograph. Haven't had any problem since then.

Sounds like the mainspring may've broken.
If you consumer laws afford you the ability to return the purchase for refund or replacement, then use them to save having to send it off for repair.

Unfortunately, this will not happen in Singapore. :(
Guess I will have to send it in for a check. The chrono has been running for hours now. No issue... Hopefully they will get it checked thoroughly.

Thanks

Ouch! Six weeks!
Were you having the problem every time? For me, it happened like only first 4 times when I turn on the chrono for today. The chrono has been running for hours now and still running. I just stopped and started it again and still running fine.. Hopefully APSC is able to detect and fix the problem for me.

Definitely send it in, sure 6 weeks is not very cool but after it'll work fine, I had to send mine in because of a cracked ceramic case, it took them 2 months, but they had to do some testing as to why the case cracked, in any case it was a great after service experience as much as it can be for this kind of unfortunate event which can always happen, AP SC is great

Bring in to Singapore AP services center. Should be a easy fix. Maybe will take less than 6 weeks since it shouldn't be required to go back to factory. Singapore AP Services Center is first rate in services and workmanship! Good luck! .. James

Well, the good news is the mainspring doesn't seem to be broken, but I'm puzzled by the erratic effect that running the chrono is having.
Another 'dry' chronograph module issue?
Presuming so, then it seems AP are following in PP's of insufficient final QC regime in order to get as much product out the door as possible.

Service from the ladies are good. Friendly and willing to help. But i feel it kinda stops there. Its more of a hit and miss for me. Also reason why i moved on to Pp and cleared my APs

I agreed. Service is definitely good but it really stopped there. But I love the offshore design a lot. PP is another level and right now it doesn't really sing to me *yet*
