Ok thanks, I assume they are part of the same chain of stores in Wilmslow and Bolton?

I'm at the stage where I would like to buy a SD, it will be my 1st Rolex, as a result I have no experience of the AD shops in my area, however I am happy to travel to the RIGHT shop.

Prestons of Bolton - Lee Taylor - Great help with anything I have asked of him and even sourced the Rolex tool for my Oyster bracelet as of recent.
More central Manchester - David M Robinsons I cannot fault, again the floor manager is named Lee, and has sold the family 3 watches in the past two years and gone the extra mile when he could. |

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I haven't visited any of those shops except for Mappin Web in Manchester, went there in 2014 asking about the latest Sea Dweller which had just been released, after a lengthy chat with a male sales person he offered to put my name on the wait list, I agreed and gave him all my details, he said he would call me in about 3 -4 months (predicted wait time). Well I never did receive a phone call, and through principle I probably wouldn't go back, I never pursued it further because of an accident I had shortly after that put me out of work for a few months and financially thought better of it. lostis4d - interesting how you will travel to Goldsmiths Leeds even though you live in Manchester, says a lot about the AD. |

Thanks all for the suggestions, I am aware of all those shops however never visited any of them except for Mappin and Web (Manchester) which I visited summer 2014. I went in asking about the Sea Dweller which had just been released, after a lengthy chat with a Male assistant he offered to put my name on the waiting list, I gave my details and he said I would probably be looking at about 3 -4 months and would ring me, anyway to this day I never received a phone call! I never did chase him for 2 reasons, principle and the other I had an accident which prevented me working for a few months so financially though better of it. I'm probably reluctant to go back there.
Lostis4d, interesting how you will travel to Leeds Goldsmiths and you live in Manchester, says a lot for that AD then. |

All the rolex steel sports seem to have a waiting list or are not readily available at the moment, maybe just make the call to any of the above and see who has one in stock.
If you have not been to the Prestons Leeds flagship store, it is worth a visit and if I recall the goldsmiths as mentioned above is opposite. Good luck |

Another shout for David M Robinsons in central manchester. Bought a Black Bay there back in December. Had a good selection of Rolex and Tudor.
Couldn't fault the service from a lady who's name I can't remember and had a good chat with the manager too. So helpful and really seemed like watch enthusiasts! Also, in Leeds, there is a very pleasant chap (a friend of Dot's, if you know what I mean :)) at the Leeds Goldsmiths who let me try on several watches, and was so happy to help even though I made him aware I wasn't buying that day. |

I've also had good experience with Mappin & Webb in Manchester. Got my wife's Datejust there in June last year, they also sent my BLNR back to RSC due to the poor mag issue even tough it was purchased elsewhere.

Well in the end I went to David Robinson - Manchester and bought a SD 4000, served by Lee Chadwick who gave me fanstastic service. This is my 1st Rolex and all I can say is WOW! What a beatuiful piece, can't stop looking at it. Looking forward to many years of pleasure wearing it.
Thanks for all the help. |
