Obsessed.

I have loved watches since I was a kid. I often find myself watching tv/movies and trying to figure out what watch people are wearing. I can sit for hours on Instagram looking at watches. Sometimes I will fall asleep reading about them(specifically Rolex) I keep microfiber towels in my truck to clean my watch over when I leave work, I have a lot of pictures in my phone of my watch. I was wondering if most of you guys suffer from the same affliction.

Sadly the best place to see really nice Rolexes, APs and PPs are on reality TV, but God Bless Sky Plus/ Tivo and fast forward.

I'm over the obsession stage, speaking from my own perspective.

An observer might not agree.

There's no denying that I have a strong interest in watches, but I have other interests that are just as intense.

I had seven or eight bowling balls that all cost at least $200, which doesn't include the plastic and beginner balls that are good for spares and crazy dry conditions.

When I decided to move up a pound, I gave them all to my pro and started buying a new collection of balls for various conditions. He gave me a discount on a plastic ball and a top tier reactive ball and the process continues ball by ball.

Some might call that an obsession, but it's all in the game and the continuing development.

Still, after several years, I don't think I've spent as much on bowling equipment as I have spent on even one Rolex, although I could buy a Rolex for what I've spent on lessons.

I say if you're going to get into something, go all the way, even if you're as old and creaky as I am.

Oh I obsess over other things as well. I'm really into firearms and training as well. I guess they are more like passions of mine. And when I'm passionate about something I dive head first into everything there is to know about it. I have just always loved watches. I got into guns later in my life.

I don't think any of us would be here if we all didn't obsess over watches in some form.

Odd. You joined a forum dedicated to primarily watches yet, you never obsess over them. Weird.

I'm not afflicted quite to the extent that you describe... but I certainly have a healthy appreciation for fine watches... particularly for Rolex
