Lacks pictures, seller has many items listed. Anything on the surface that jumps out? |

Beyond the seller's feedback, is there anything that stands out as actually being wrong?

I don't see anything wrong with it - especially if you use paypal. You can get your money back easy enough.. Take to an AD immediately and be sure to videotape the opening of the package, etc. That listing doesn't scare me. You don't have anything to lose if you document the opening of the package and taking it to get it authenticated.

Listing claims it is a 168000, and that was a SS model with black dial. Is the listing incorrect, or is it a converted watch (which would be a shame!)?

Good call. I messaged and asked just that as well as more, better pictures and serial number. Paypal gives me security of knowing I can return it but that said, I don't want to waste the time or return cost of shipping if there is an issue. I thought it was a good deal give it is a two tone.

If you have to ask...
Just buy from a reputable seller here on the forums. Too many horror stories on Ebay. People get excited because the deal looks good and then began to second guess. Buying a nice watch should be pleasant experience, not one that leaves you worried or anxious. |

Why do people do this?
Yeah, maybe it's legit, but there are enough potential issues that you should stay away. People here are telling you to stay away, but you don't want to listen. You clearly don't know what you are dealing with so you are asking the forum. What's the point in asking if you aren't going to listen to these knowledgeable and experienced people? Who cares about PayPal protection? Why are people willing to even risk putting themselves through that frustration if something goes wrong. It's not worth it. If a little bit of money is make or break and you're trying to find a deal, you aren't ready. It's been said a thousand times, but we see these ridiculous threads over and over. If you are willing to use eBay, usee a seller from the forum instead. They will fix any issues you might run into. More than just about anyone you could find on eBay.

Videotaping doesn't prove anything. Things can be repacked or it could be a different box entirely. Not sure why people think this is a good idea. It's not. Unless he literally sets up the camera at his front door and waits for the mailman to hand him the box. Then keeps the box in frame the entire time while going to an AD. Then manages to keep it in frame all the way until it is authenticated. That's not reasonable. It's ridiculous.

Whoever bought that watch, if it was based on that listing, was exercising extremely poor judgement.
I'd also like to know how that turns out, but I suspect it won't turn out well.

I looked again at pics. I noticed the extra links are mixed (two tone and SS). It also appears the warranty paper isn't included in the accessories, meaning it could've been lost or the accessories were cobbled together. Let us know what he says.

My guess is that based on this thread he either won't pay or will contact the seller and request a refund prior to shipping.

Well it has been sold but I'll PASS anyway.
But a 168000TT blue Subdate should be in everyone's collection.

I'd like to point out that the WatchOut section is for threads like this. If you don't like them, find a different section to participate in.
Good call on the mixed and cobbled parts. I messaged the seller with the question of the model being a stainless and the watch being a two toned yesterday. No response as of yet, which to me, is telling. |

"Great Condition" definitely doesn't apply. Interested to hear what happens. I've personally had a number of great Ebay experiences, but you need to protect yourself, and most importantly, be patient!! Hope this works out well for you.

Based on the title of this thread, the OP bought it and was asking for input prior to paying.
IMHO that cart is before the horse. You are now committed - so IIRC, paying is expected per eBay policies. Not a rant - just sharing in the spirit of communication. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any concerns before I pay

I do get that perspective from the buyer's side. As a seller on eBay I had only one case of cold feet in a couple of hundred transactions. The seller gets billed immediately for fees which must be reversed. I'm of the school that a prospective buyer should do homework first and not click bid or buy until sure they will fulfill their obligations. Won't comment on the pro's and con's of this particular watch or seller - many have done a good job on that score. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would stay away. The seller posts it as New with Tags and as a 168000. Best case it is a total Frankenwatch.
