Gone vintage and lovin' it.
Went on vacation last week and put both of my Rolex in the safe a few days before leaving. Put on a vintage (1958) Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic, stainless steel on a honey colored croc strap with deployant buckle. I have received more compliments on this particular watch than I ever received on any Rolex. Am now back from vacation but can't bring myself to get the Rolex' out of the safe, and to be honest, I am in no hurry to do so.
Before leaving I went to the watch repair shop across from my office for a watch battery to a quartz watch I wore on vacation and the watch maker was commenting on my watch before I was even all he way in the door. I think I will wear this one for a while longer, the Rolex' don't seem to be calling my name out quite yet. |

Camera broken, may be a while before I get another, but when I do.....
I got this a few years ago on a watch sellers website when the G-P Gyromatic seemed to be the Holy Grail watch that everyone was in search of. I found a near perfect specimen from 1958 on a watch sellers website and snapped it up, along with a Hamilton, which has never run quite right since I got it, but that's a different story. Never wore the G-P much until lately when I realized what a nice watch it actually is. It keeps as good of time as my DateJust, which is incredibly accurate itself. I have looked at JLC Master Control watches very similar to this G-P and would like to have one, but just can't justify the new prices, especially when I have the G-P. |

Gone vintage and lovin' it. Nothing better than hearing those words after a good go with a young lady.
