First Milgauss
I was in my favorite jewelry store getting my DayDate bracelet adjusted and saw a case of Rolex watches. This store is part of a large chain that includes Rolex AD stores, but this store is no longer an AD.
I saw a Milgauss and a Sub in the case. This was the first Milgauss I've ever seen in the flesh. I found it strangely attractive. My prior reactions from pictures have been uniformly negative. I asked why they had Rolex in the store nod was told because they were used. This watch looked totally perfect. The Sub caught my eye because the hands and dial looked so much smaller than my new GMT. Turns out the Sub was 15 years old. This one had holes in the lugs. It also looked perfect. Unfortunately, I keep thinking about that stupid Milgauss. |

I got my Milgauss about a month ago and have not took it off. I also have a sub and that's been in the drawer since I got the Milgauss. I think they look fantastic in the flesh, pictures never seem to do them any justice!

Outstanding value, especially if you buy pre-loved. Mine runs almost at +/- 0 seconds per day. I am likely to get another one.

I did find it striking. Not sure I want a watch without a date. Stupid Milgauss!

The older, ubiquitous subs are simply awesome; the Milgauss is a unique piece and a def a conversation starter.
Pop quiz, hot shot! There are 2 watches in the store that you really like. What do you do?!? What do you do?!? |

It's one of my favorite models. I currently have a 16610. Debating whether to:
1. Keep the 16610 and add a Milgauss or 16710 (Pepsi GMT) 2. Sell the 16610, get a 116610 or a 116610LV (Hulk) and go from there 3. Sell the 16610 when the SS DJ41's come out, and get that, or sell now, and get a TT DJ41 Another question is, if you go the Milgauss route, which dial do you get?! In pictures, it's blue no question. I felt the same way about the TT Sub, and when I tried the blue dial TT on, it looked atrocious on me. |

At my age I'm not a hot anything. I'm lucky to be above room temperature! I will call to (1) get a price on the Milgauss and (2) ask my salesperson to be on the lookout for a used Sub with the the new bezel with box and papers. I'll think about both then decide. |

I love staring at this thing. I hear you though about the lack of date. I alternate with an exp ii, and I caught myself checking my wrist today for the date. Saw milgauss. So checked the phone instead.

Definitely agree the Milgauss looks better in person than it does in pictures. The pops of orange are much more subtle but fun in person.

The orange markers at 3 / 6 / 9 seems odd and I like the clean balanced white dials.
