Are 116520 owners ordering the Daytona 500?
How many owners of the non-ceramic bezel SS Daytona (116520) have ordered or received the new 116500 ceramic bezel Daytona?
I am asking because I have owned the GMT IIc (116710LN) for many years and have never jumped on the BLNR bandwagon. Likewise, I know Rolex has really hyped up the marketing on the 116500 and the blogs have jumped on the bandwagon, with flippers making a few thousand on these watches. But is it worth it for current owners of the 116520 to order the new 116500? I am sure I can get one from an AD within 6-12 months. But I am not completely sold on it, unless someone can convince me otherwise. So if you are a 116520 owner, did you order/receive a 116500 or did you pass on it? |

Got a brand new 520 black last May . Thought about getting a 500 white but discouraged by the 18k price tag. Decided to get a sub 14060m instead:)

I had a white 520, I also bought the 500C white but I couldn't fall in love with it. Flipped the whiteC and waiting for a black dial 500 to go with my white 520.

I have the 116520 and will not be adding the 116500.
Happy for those 116520 owners that have added the new ceramic models to their stables, but it's not for me. I'm perfectly happy with the 520, and there are other watches I would add before getting the ceramic model. The 520 is all the Daytona I'll ever need. |

I have the white dial 116520, I could have ordered the black dial 116500, but I actually prefer a change like a DJ. the 116500 can wait, it's not getting anywhere. Eventually, i will have it! it's not to be missed!

Be nice to add a black dial 500 to go with my white dial 520, but that will have to be one day when funds are available.
I wouldn't trade, nor would I pay a premium.

I own a white faced zenith Daytona and have added a white faced 500. They're similar but very different. I wouldn't part with either now.
Would love both the same in black but may have to wait!! Zeniths getting more expensive and black face 500's aren't exactly easy to come by in the UK. |

Not me! Modded my 116520 with the Panda dial and hands plus a non OEM ceramic bezel.

I have a blue Subc so the BLNR is not as appealing to me as the black GMTc, however the ceramic on the Daytona is a big differentiator to the SS model and if I didn't have a RGc, I don't think that abbreviation's ever been used before, then I'd be very interested in the SSc.

In a word, no. There's plenty of others I'd pick first.

Neil: I think your RGc tops the new SSc, so no need to have the sibling! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
