Help Real or Fake

I am trying to figure out if the Rolex I was gifted is fake or real. I cannot find a serial number which would lead me to believe the watch is fake, but the internal workings look authentic. I appreciate any help. Note, Watch does not work.

Is the person who gifted it to you the type to give away Rolexes?

Looks legit from the rotor and movement, perhaps they shaved off too much when it was getting polished?

My father in-law worked with clocks and watches in the Navy and would always try to pick up broken watches anyplace he could and he would find them and fix them. He never got around to this watch as he passed away 2 years ago.Prior to selling off all of the watches, tools, and kits, he left the Rolex to me. Ive had it here for a couple years, but didn't try to remove the back until today and to my surprise it looks genuine inside despite not being able to locate a number on the outside.

Did you remove the caseback without damaging it? Assume you found the right tool?

I dont see the normal vertical machine marks between the lugs. It looks like it was either over polished between the lugs or the case is aftermarket and unmarked

Using I believe the 1520 caliber, and from that photo looks all correct to me.

Can you spin the rotor a bit more round and see if there are three small import letters on the end of the balance cock?
I am sure its genuine, as far as case and movement
