Grey dealer submariner
I was at a Local watch store. He is an AD for Zeinth, Breitling, TAG, ORIS but not Rolex. He had several used Rolex Submariners. I was looking at an 2004 model with box and papers for 6800$. Is this a good deal? He came down on the price but my only concern is if there is aftermarket pieces on it since it was not serviced by Rolex (although serviced by him) and he is not an AD and doesn't know Rolex that well as they came from trades. I was going to play it safe and get an Explorer BNIB from AD for cheaper.

$6800 for a 16610 is pretty optimistic.
I would go for a BNIB Explorer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you're too lazy or can't figure out how to search or browse the classifieds to see the going rate, then yes, $6,800 is a good deal.

$6800 is very high for that watch. As stated you can get a ceramic version for that price.

I agree that is too high for a 2004 16610. A brief few minutes of looking through the classifieds here should yield you a far better price on that same piece. Or as others have said, a new in box SubC would go at that price (or a bit less) and a nice pre-owned SubC date for the same money.

Yep...too high. You could probably get a pretty decent ceramic model for about that number.

You've done right to ask here first. Do you like the newer sub-c? I bought a sub-c date from DavidSW for $6975. Indistinguishable from new.

6800 USD in 12 years old Sub?
In my opinion it is rather high. You don' need to invest in much more and you can buy new at an AD.

If it is new old stock with stickers that might be about right but based on the initial post, I'd say far from it.

Lots of attitude on this thread.
Settle down folks, it's just a watch forum. And "easy" depends on a certain point of view might was well just chill out. OP, that's a high price. I'd keep looking.
