Submariner and Sea Dweller 4000 Actual Measurements
Please measure the thickness of your watch and post results and if not too much trouble, a pic of the measurement as indicated on your digital caliper.
You can put scotch tape on the caliper and zero it with the tape if you are worried about a scratch. Thanks Last edited by Tools; 30 August 2016 at 10:16 AM.. |

Here you go.
I would like to see the same digital measurements for the sea dweller as I have heard that from lug to lug it is shorter, but thicker from top to bottom. I set the caliper to zero after adding the tape so this is about as accurate as were are going to get. I took multiple measurements to verify these findings. There is glare on the last photo from lug to lug... but it is 47.96 So, who is going to pay it forward on the Sea Dweller for us? Regards, Scott |

I had a SubC and traded up for a SD4K, I never measured my SubC and now I wanted to know the exact difference between the two measurements. My digital caliper needs a battery also, I think these things drain batteries even if they are off, so tomorrow I will post measurements and pics of the SD4K.

I have my name on the list for a white daytona C and figured I'd have either the sub c or the sdk 4000 in black to go with it. I look forward to the post. Regards, Scott |

They both have pro's and con's, overall the SD4K gets to almost perfect, I do notice the small height and weight difference with the SD4K, but not a deal killer, in a perfect world, the SD4K would need to be no more than 13mm thick, and I think I like the Gloss dial a little better, but once again, very minor concerns.

Caveat... There may be a slight height variance between watches of the same model as the crystal is press fitted and may be pressed in at different depths.

Great post! Appreciate the information as I'm also deciding between a Sub and a SeaDweller. Leaning heavily toward the SeaDweller.
