Pelagos was my new favorite watch until...

...the bezel insert popped off on the third day.

Does anyone know if it can be reinstalled at the AD or does it have to go back to RSC?

Thanks.

If your AD has a watchmaker they should be able to put it back in. I don't recall what holds it in. Easy fix though.

I believe you are missing the little ratchet thing that makes the bezel click when it rotates . Bring it to an ad

Good thing it didn't crack or break. You were just wearing the watch and it popped out?

Indeed, I swung my wrist away from my body while reaching for something and it popped out onto the table less than a foot below. There was no impact of any kind and, to my knowledge, no other parts came out. The bezel itself still turns and clicks definitively.

I've been surpised how much I've enjoyed this watch. I can see it monopolizing a lot of wrist time. I negotiated a substantial discount from the AD because it's a Mk1 so that's part of the feeling of reward. Still, it's a bummer on a brand new watch. I'll take it back to the AD tomorrow.

The ratchet spring is underneath the actual bezel not the bezel insert

can do it yourself, really easy to do. Search youtube for videos of how its done, takes about 20 seconds to reinstall it.

The insert is ceramic and held in by friction...
Attempting to press it back in with your finger will most likely crack it.
If it just drops in then there is a problem with the size of the bezel and/or the insert.. and it will just fall out again..

Your best bet would be send it to RSC and have the complete bezel replaced under warranty..

It's going back to the AD. They can either reinstall it or send it to the RSC on their dime but it's new and under warranty and I'll let them fix it with documentation in case it happens again. I didn't buy a new in box Rolex product complete with stickers to fix it myself, especially after four days. I like the AD and have confidence in them, although a tiny bit less confidence in the watch at the moment. I'm sure I'll get over it.

Not only ceramic, but lumed ceramic (sorry, had to do it).

I'd mention the 70 hour power reserve but that's only on the MkII.

Update!

The AD decided that the best way to fix the problem was to just give me a new watch instead of making me wait for a repair by the RSC or factory. They installed my already fitted bracelet on a new watch head and gave me a new warranty card to match and sent me on my way with a smile. No word on why it happened or how they will resolve it with Tudor/Rolex but they got me back out the door with my problem solved in less than 36 hours. I don't really think I could've asked for more.

The new watch was a good move on their part, eliminating the negative association with the old one and providing a fresh start to the new watch experience, and ensuring my loyalty as an ongoing customer. Although the AD experience costs more when you find a good one the level of service can offset some of that extra cost. In this case it did for me. They earned my ongoing business.

I agree. Make it clear you want to build a relationship with a particular AD from the start and it can be worth it.

Glad they took care of you. I find it a bit strange they removed the head from another instead of just exchanging the entire watch but it matters not.

BNIB Mk1 which is what I originally bought and what I wanted. I prefer the two lines over the novel on the dial. They gave me a great deal on the first watch so I know they didn't make much money on it but they did the right thing anyway. I'm happy.
