Hi,
I will be making a stopover at CDG (Airport Paris). I am still looking for a SubC nd. Do they carry that model and gove a discount? I am traveling within the EU though. Thanks. |

You have to go outside of EU from CDG to buy something duty free. It's the same everywhere in the world. |

in Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport) the AD also gives you a nice discount when travelling within the EU. I was wondering if it the same at CDG? |

Selection at CDG is hit or miss, but usually a miss for sports models. Especially given the summer travel season is just ending.

Sport models are very rare at CDG, whatever the terminal. Most of the time, mainly the last SD model, not very popular here because too expensive.

Seen many airports, and so far only Schiphol Amsterdam (Gassan) is a good deal for whatever they have available (which varies by the day)

What kind of discount would you push for at an airport AD on say an Explorer II (USD8100 in the current TRF pricing chart)?

I can confirm a Hulk at CDG terminal E2.
I left Paris yesterday and stopped by the Rolex shop. They have many sports models (no ceramic daytona though, lol). |

Sub 116610LV MSRP in France is 8300€, including 20% VAT. Without VAT it would be 8300€/1.20 , 6916,66€ ... not 7340€ |

BUT, there are administrative fees they take out of the VAT refund that will equate to 12-15% refund. 15% is usually when the price of the watch is over 10k 12% under 10k so in this case 8300 less 12% = 7304 |

So if I travel within the EU (and live in the EU) they will only sell me at French list price then?

They won't sell you at all, if you can't show them a boarding pass for a flight outside of EU. You may not even have access to the shop. You can call them to ask. All Rolex shops at CDG (there's 6 of them in various terminals) are subsidiaries of Royal Quartz , an AD in Paris. |

The weird thing is this ONLY applies to Rolex and Tudor. At LHR or AMS for example you can get "airport pricing" which is basically the VAT free price for flying within the EU for ALL other brands, just not for Rolex or Tudor. I have done this several times so i know for sure this is 100% true for watch brands non Rolex/Tudor. IE i buy an AP at LHR, get airport pricing, fly to brussels, and fly back 20 minutes later. Since I didn't leave the EU, there are no customs issues with declaring purchases. So while this won't help you with your sub c, its good to know for any other brands you may be interested in. Here is the FAQ's of a London airport AD for reference: |
