First off, no matter what anyone says.......buy what YOU like!
That said, your trading a watch that depending on condition and paperwork is worth more than the explorer 1, so I hope there would be money going in your direction. Also, I can't imagine really regretting NOT buying an explorer 1 because you can always do that. I CAN see you saying "I wish I never traded that Sub LV! If you can swing it, keep the sub and buy the explorer 1. |

Not even for a second.
I like both watches and find them to be exceptionally complimentary. If you absolutely want the explorer, the ideal option would be to buy it outright then after a few months if you find you're still over it, you can easily sell the LV

I think you'll regret giving up the Sub. You should try to add the Explorer if your budget allows.

Absolutely not.
The 50th Anniversary Submariner is THE ONE Rolex I regret missing out on buying new, and expect you would regret selling/flipping. Nothing wrong with the Explorer - very happy with mine, but if I had to choose between either it or the 50th Submariner, would have no problem parting with it. |

Keep the anniversary sub. Once those new exp 1 start rolling out, in a few years they'll be a dime a dozen. Meanwhile your sub will be harder and harder to find.

The explorer is my favorite SS Rolex, but I would not flip a 50th for it, unless I was going for only one watch. I would however add it in a heartbeat

If I can't decide, I just buy the new one and then let the watches battle it out for wrist time. After a few months it is pretty clear what to do. |

Definitely do not sell the 16610LV. You will regret it big time! Good luck.
