GMT II (116710) Minute Hand Slight Movement when Adjusting Hour Hand

Hi guys,

Do any of you guys have some movement on your minute hand when you adjust in Position 2 (adjusting the hour hand function)? When I put it into the Position 2 and move the crown back and forward a little, it also causes the minute hand to move back and forth as well.

I guess I am wondering if this is normal as it's a Rolex.

Thanks!

My exp does it also. It's a mechanical watch so it will always have a little play /movement in it.

My better judgement thinks the same way, but I could be totally wrong since Rolex is known for quality in various degrees and areas lol.

I believe that is a known issue/quirk of the 3185 movement. People called it like, "minute hand wiggle" or something. It was supposed to be improved or almost eliminated on the 3186.

Google like, "rolex 3185 minute hand wiggle" and hopefully you'll find some people talking about their experiences.

The OP title shows 116710. So, that would be a 3186 correct?

According to the website, it should be a 3186 movement. In reference to the following thread, it seems to assume that the minute hand should wiggle but the 24-hr Hand should not on a 3186?

I don't see the 24-hr hand wiggle when I do the wiggle test, just the minute hand.

Oh, I was mistaken. The wiggle on the 3185 is on the 24 hour hand, not the minute hand. So that's not very helpful then.

And all the 6 digit GMT's have the 3186 anyway. So I don't know what would cause your minute hand issue?
