Deciding between Jaeger moonphase vs Blancpain Villeret moonphase

Blancpain one is probably pricier by around $2000.

Definitely the Blancpain, much nicer IMO, not to mention more complicated and for an AC well worth an extra 2K

Tough call. I have tried the JLC (different dial) and it wears beautifully. It seems a bit dark in that photo while I remember that the black dial had a nice contrast with the moonphase wheel.

The blancpain is more complicated and a bit more gaudy. What are you after? A classy dress watch or an elegant but more interesting one?

To add fuel, have you considered the JLC meteorite hat DavidSW has?

To me they are very different watches really depends on personal preference. I would get the jlc

I prefer the JLC but on the non-comp, simple dress dial I really like the Villeret.

You gotta be kidding me... Yesterday I looked at the same models at my AD. The Blancpain was the new edition with a gray dial. It looked more rich than JLC calendar. However, it was priced way higher too. I still do not know what to do :-)

Blancpain for sure. The watch looks a lot more expensive than the JLC. And for 2k difference go with the Blancpain

Jaeger-LeCoultre, that villeret model features a few things that put me off. The shape of the Roman numbers, it looks very weird and an awry hand, that's out of balance
Jaeger-LeCoultre is more refined to me

Just “bath” – the other is something significantly different, which if you were involved in one, would’ve seen you either incarcerated or pushing up the daisies!

When you sold your watch, Karl, you weren’t slaughtered (greatly or otherwise) – it was probably just a paper cut from one of the crisp notes you were handed!
