A great many vintage lovers share your preference - nice older one with its depth rating in dial.

It's next up on my list. They are not rare but try finding one with nice and even patina on the dial and hands, along with a case that's not been over polished.

Love your 6610. I remember seeing some with the depth rating in red. But either way that's a beautiful watch. The 1016 ain't bad either.

I love the Explorer 1, 39mm

My one and only Rolex. If I can afford another Rolex model in the future I will keep the Explorer as well.

I like the whole 101X range but the older Explorers are a little much for me - lovely examples, OP! One thing, though - take that bracelet to Michael Young in HK, he'll make it like new again.

The Explorer (traditionally, it was never referred to as the "Explorer I") is an undeniably iconic timepiece. One could argue this reference, more than any other, is the essential Rolex watch.

Icon20 K Series - Explorer 1

I'm been pretty obsessed with the Explorer 1 for a while - After years of waiting, I finally sold a newer 39mm for a very sweet older 114270- 36mm... Apparently the watch I always wanted. For me, the style, the size, and the weight are perfect.

But if anyone knows roughly the years of production of the different series I'd be very appreciative - specifically the K series... Mine's from 2001, but don't know how long it was between series' shifts.

Thanks.

Yes, maybe one day I will have a 1985 Production year 1016! If you have the opportunity I would say get it

Yup, that's my all time favorite Rolex.

I had to go with a DJ because I can't remember the date for the life of me.
