Datejust 41 Jubilee clasp, lack of thought!?

Is it just me or whoa does that oyster clasp not look appropriate on that jubilee bracelet...? I'd LOVE a 41mm jubilee but only with a hidden clasp.(the clasp on the much older datejusts was such a turn off for me when I used to wear one).

The easylink came at such a high price aesthetically that it killed it for me... And I was so very much looking forward to a 41mm jubilee

I get the decision on the clasp. The easy link system is nice. It would be nice if they could figure out how do it without this clasp.

If they ever come out with a SS version I hope they just return to the hidden clasp

Aesthetically it's not as nice as the hidden clasp.

I wish Rolex could design an adjustable clasp that isn't so clunky looking for the DJ and the DD lines.

I think i'm a little late to the party here? (and or a little dumb).

Is that the new Jubilee bracelet on the new DJ41?

If so, that's a massive error IMO.

This was such a huge upgrade on the vintage DJ bracelets....

I guess I don't understand the fuss. Old Jubilee bracelets (like on the GMTs) had a clasp kind of like this. Doesn't bother me but that's just me. Can't wait for these in stainless!

I think someone at Rolex needs to put some thought into an adjustable clasp for the jubilee and president bracelets. And the mystifying thing is, I believe there was some patent application for such a thing on the president, and then Basel, and...nothing. Huh.

Looks better with the stickers off and on the wrist. I know it was not popular but I really like it because of the easy link.

I like the older clasp on my dads Coke (1989 model).

Newer models then the hidden clasp is the way forward.

Hmm..

It gives it kind of a vintage look.

This being said, I think one day Rolex will come up with a hidden (easily) adjustable clasp. And charge us for that!

The hidden clasp looks cool, but functionally sucks. There's zero room for bracelets that lack any sort of micro adjust in 2016. This is an improvement.

I too was a little unsure of this

But after purchasing it and wearing it I love it. Change isnt always bad it sometimes just takes a little getting used to.

If you really think about it, this is a very hard problem and probably why they came up with this as an answer for their largest Datejust. You have a fixed number of visible links once the bracelet is sized. How would you either subtract or add to those on the fly? You'd need extra links "stored" somewhere and the only place would be over or under the bracelet, which would create aesthetic and fit problems.

They could have done a better job. This watch:

Has an exponentially better engineered set up.

I know this is a Jubilee but didn't someone post a Rolex patent for an adjustable President clasp?!

I agree. This clasp gives the Jubilee a micro-adjustment to fit and an EZ-link for hot summer months..

It's a return to functionality that has been missing from the Jubilee since the change to the "hidden" clasp..

True that it has more of an integral clasp that blends better with the bracelet, but still not the Super Jubilee look where all you see is the crown.
