Rolex Most Likely To Be Discontinued

Howdy,

I know from time to time Rolex decides to discontinue certain models. When this occurs, is there any notice or indicator that it is coming before it happens? Also, based upon whatever cycle they use, what models do you think are most likely to be discontinued?

Take care,

Ruddiger

Well, we are expecting the DJ41 in SS so the DJ2. And maybe the PM Daytonas that will get a ceramic makeover, probably WG first. I think if they released the RG and YG on ceramic they still might keep the metal bezels as well as these are also popular with ladies and as a statement piece.

Usually the only info one gets is likely hearsay from people working at ADs. One of the latest rumors was the platinum dial YM being discontinued.

But yes I imagine the DJ2 days are numbered.

Lol. I've been waiting for the YM to be discontinued for years. Thank goodness Rolex is so slow.

If I had to guess, this seems on target.

Pure speculation but I think the D-Blue is only a matter of time.
And this one I don't believe - but the manager at a boutique recently told me that the LVC was being discontinued. I can't buy into that though...

It looks like this collection have been reduced a lot. No more yellow gold TT, no more 35mm models, no more platinum dial models ...

That needs to be confirmed when new master catalog will be released.

They might reduce production and maybe dial options on the Milgauss. Even in war-torn London I still see a Milgauss or two in every AD's and used dealer's window.

Agree with this, I can't see the LVc going anywhere anytime soon.

Be a shame if the D-Blue does get discontinued but I would think its days are numbered.

I think the D-blue being discontinued is wishful thinking from everyone that currently owns one, including me.

Thinks it's got at least 18-24 months left in it.

As to what if any will go I would say one of the PM models will be next. Something that probably won't bother many of us to much.

D-Blue sales is very STRONG I think. I recently fly all over for meetings, lots high up guys I met at different occasion all have the new D-Blue on wrist. (Have notice their watch choice before) They are all big guys.

Physically Big American. Not fat American. Although they all got beer belly. All the guys are CEO, VP...etc. I saw 5 all together. Was highly surprised cuz I personally not a fan. I know lots forum members are not fans. Didn't expect that is the watch to get in recent. Been a long seeing people buying Rolex from my side. It's been lots Panerai, IWC & VC.

Haha 97% that ridiculous, only about 90% of UK guys have a beer gut.

Of course not wanting to be the odd one out, I joined the 90% :-)

Like you say, if you are talking that level of position I would have thought they would have had something a little more boutique style.

Just goes to show there is such a thing as the watch to have at anyone time.

The Milgauss has been discontinued thrice already (6541, 1019, 116400 black dial). The black dial was redialed as the Air King, so I'll guess the case and movement will be around for a while, if not the GV and the thunderbolt.

Based on what some of the crazy stuff you hear at an AD, some salesperson probably will try to tell someone the DaytonaC is being discontinued...

All of them, Rolex is a sinking ship. If Rolex is still around in five years, I'll eat every Apple Watch I've bought.
