I think I need help...
I bought my third Rolex today, it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow morning and I can't wait.
It is a reference that I have said will be my next since getting the blnr. On a sad note on the way home from the ad I noticed I have a huge knick on the bottom left side of my case and it is really driving me nuts, especially since the sub is less than a month old |

Oof, it can be repaired though.
Just saw a nick on my Sub that wasn't there before, also have no idea where/when it happened. |

I can't believe the steel can "knick" like that. I have had my tag for a long time and literally beat it and nothing like this has ever happened to it |

That's not a nick...That's a Compound Fracture!
Well, I may be exaggerating, but are you sure the wife didn't bang it when you were sleeping, because you pay more attention to your watches than to your wife??

It's odd that it's on the bottom and not the top. Almost like it was dropped.

Hard to imagine how that could have happened while you were wearing it. Think back to when you took it off, maybe you'll remember something. Commiserations!

I know it couldn't have happened while wearing it. The only times I have had it off lately is at night and when I was getting fitted for my new incoming. I must have dropped it at some point in the last couple of days and not realized it until today. I am wondering what I would have placed it on that would have been hard enough to do that to the steel though

How did you do that? And yes it looks like a chunk of the case is missing. Well, I'm sure you can get that repaired. Embrace the 'battle' scars.

The location makes it less easily viewable so that is good. It will dull in how much you notice it through time.

The first few dings are always the worst. The only way to keep it new is not to wear it. I know a lot of people dislike scratches and dings etc but at the end of the day it's part of the life of the watch. In 30 years it will look terrific with all it's scars.

Looks like the grain structure of the metal is showing. I can't imagine how that could have happened. It appears that a portion of the metal is missing instead of a large area being abraded.

I would have your AD send it in to the repair center to have it checked out. Possibly a flaw in the steel. At least get an estimate and then decide. It doesn't pay to be upset whenever you wear it. Enjoy your #3.
