One week in: yellow and white gold impressions

Thought I'd post my impressions after a week of alternating between my 116619 and my YG DD40.

The best way to describe the difference is an automobile analogy.

White gold is like driving an S class. Some people with casual knowledge will mistake it for a C class (especially since all Benz sedans now look the same, but I digress), but true gearheads will recognize the S class for what it is. Still, it's a really nice car but not too flashy or loud.

Yellow gold is like driving a lime green Aventador. Ain't nobody going to miss it! People who work with me who have never noticed my wrist before now draw their eyes there when I wear it. Definitely takes some getting used to.

With that said, I love 'em both!

I'm getting fed up with no one noticing my PM watches. That's it, I am hitting a strip joint right now...

Wg fly under the radar but so does yg for me. Pretty much no one notice what I wear regardless of if it's pm or ss.

Funny.

So, if some one said "That is a nice SS Rolex!"; would you reply "Thank you" or "It's not SS, it is..."?

From what you said above, I would think the latter.

No one other than watch salespeople notice my Platona (or at least they don't comment) and that is fine with me. I love the weight and feel of it, and wear it every day.

Enjoy your watches, OP.

I feel the same way no one ever notices any of my watches. From a SS to an all gold DD. Nope, not a word from anyone ever.

If somebody called my 116619 SS I would not correct them. In fact with the only co worker who ever noticed my watches, I told them on purpose it was SS. They noticed the first day that the watch was different, and I just said I liked the color better but that otherwise it was the same watch.

Just a fun observation to share.
