Rolex Availability in London

Has anybody had a hard time finding Rolex sport models in London? I'm heading out there this weekend and the few ADs I've reached out to say they don't have the models I'm looking for. Any thoughts?

You may see some SS Yachtmaster, Milgauss or Explorer. But most ADs in the UK have a long wait list for SS Sub, GMT, Daytona and DS. DJs, two-tone and PM watches should be plenty.

That seems to be the consensus. How far out would I have to venture from central London? I was looking for the Sub Hulk, YM blue or rhodium, and Explorer 2 polar.

Even out of London is a struggle.

I've toured Scotland ADs and most have both EXP2, the odd SS YM! MIlgauss and old model explorer. I've seen the odd one with a SDC. All that stuff seems to sit around in windows.

SS : LV, subs, GMT, BLNR, Daytona even new AK etc....I'd say little to no chance.

You mentioned EXP2 polar and YM blue. I'd say you'll get one of them no problem. But above desirable models unlikely.

If what you say is true then I can't complain since that is what I'm after. I'm sure the exchange rate and VAT refund makes the U.K. a hot market right now for Rolex.

Quite far - try Dublin. Call the ADs before you go this will save you hours of traveling

Same at the few AD's in Southern England I have visited or spoken to. From previous threads it is UK wide.......

Good job the OP doesn't want a Batman over here !! I thought about trying to find one recently but BNIB stickered ones seem to be well north of £7000 now. Local independent jeweller I have used for many purchases has one, but I don't quite like it enough to part with £7500 !!

Good luck on your UK visit and don't forget your umbrella

None.. Lol. They don't even have a display case for the professional models.
You have to ask them ..most will say they don't have any.
Last time they have gmt SS in stock, I was shocked but I wasn't looking for that one.

North west England AD have just had a delivery and there's currently ss subs, gmts in windows here. I guess you'd need to be quick though.

Am I wrong in thinking that the US is among the best places to buy a Rolex? Considering the many small-market ADs and the large network of gray dealers..

There was nothing in central London last saturday. I went into a couple of stores and no sports at all. I picked up my DSSD from an independant BNIB.

Indeed, this is why apparently all the ss sport have been snapped up by foreign investors ;)

I went into Wempe yesterday to check out some other brands and there wasn't a single SS sports model on sale.

My advice for the moment is to enjoy you stay in London.

I was in an AD in Atlanta, Ga last week and they had most models, excluding the new Daytona, on display.

I bought a new GMT II (blue/black) from this AD a few months ago with less than a 24 hour wait.

Outskirts of London have more than centre, such as Brent Cross and the Westfields, I've seen SDc, DSSD and Exp2. Ring around.

OP if your after an Exp II, Frasier Heart in Westfield Stratford City have both the black and white dial in stock.
You will probably be able to negotiate a little discount as they have been in the window for quite sometime. The polar has been in the window since late May.

Easy to reach as Stratford is on the central line.

I saw this. At £6k they must have bought it for low £5k.
Surprised they sourced one that cheaply.

I heard that Rolex have reduced supply to uk as most are being snapped up to be exported. I guess the inevitability of a price hike is getting nearer - maybe that could be on selected models?

USD2.4k discount if you buy from UK right now and grab a VAT refund. Explorer II should be moderately easy to find but best of luck with any of the SS models! All prices shown are excluding tax.

Have a great trip

Just landed in London within the last few hours. Our hotel is near Harrods. Walking away now with the YM Bllue. They did have a limited selection, but at least had both explorer 2s and the YM Blue.
