Panerai are so commonly faked and the fakes are so convincing that I would only buy from a trusted source. Never fleabay, not a pawn shop, and certainly not Craig's list.

With that in mind, think logically about it. This guy could walk into any pawn shop in Miami and get $4k for that thing all day long, and probably more, yet he chooses to sell it on Craig's list for $1000.

The odds are pretty good that it's either fake or stolen. I wouldn't even touch it with someone else's barge pole.

Looks fake to me.

A $1000 Panerai watch on Craigslist? What could go wrong?

The photo of movement is carefully covering the revealing part
BUT, from what I can see with that and the dial 99.9% sure its FAKE
Act with extreme caution

the fact that you would even consider purchasing this watch is mind boggling! Even if everyone on the forum said it looked good I would fall back on the saying "if it is too good to be true it probably is" or another saying "there is a sucker born every minute". No offense intended!

its a fake. the movement is wrong and the lume is wrong. engraving too deep and heavy wrong color on movement.

the dial font color is wrong.

crown guard interior shape is wrong.

but the biggest tell is the M serial production run was 700 pieces not 1500... http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=466718

not a bad fake but a fake.
