How to do I would like to return watch to the seller..

I am Jack from Thailand and I met the seller in Rolex forums, he had got the submariner 50th Anniversary with FLAT 4. So I had interested very much about his watch and price. Then we agreed the final price. Then I transferred money to him from Thailand 8,100usd. After he got my money, he ship the watch to Thailand. To receiving the watch from the other country. I had to pay 400 Usd for the import duty. When the watch arrived I was very happy, I saw the warranty papers is z serial. This watch is produced on year 2007. But Flat 4 is produced on year 2003 and 2094. The seller lie to me, he change the bazel to be FLAT 4 Bazel. This watch is not original Flat4.

After that I send him an e-mail....he is no answer. Anddddd call his mobile.....also no answer.

How can I do?

Jack

if the seller isn't close to you (outside Asia)- keep it if its still genuine rolex LV. the flat 4 difference isn't worth losing your $400 paid duties and possibly not getting your money back at all if the Seller went silent. if the bezel insert is genuine rolex, its worth about $500 anyway.

many people have deals go bad to lose everything; you still have the watch.

you should however post in the 'Who's Who' section on your experience.

Good advice Chewy. If the watch is an authentic Rolex, you're probably better off just keeping it. If it really makes you unhappy, then just sell it yourself, and you'll probably still be better than trying to get the seller to take it back.

Unfortunately, there is a certain amount of risk buying used, and even more so from a different country.

I concur that you should put your suspicions in a post in the Who's Who section with the seller's forum name in the subject and in the body of the post along with his/her real name. It won't help you, but it may save the next person from a deceptive seller.

+1, I'd just keep the watch because who knows what will happen even if the seller does respond at this point (e.g., keep the watch and not refund you). I'd try a couple more times to contact him, and if not, please post their information Who's Who so I know who to avoid.

If the watch is fake then i would try to get the most info on the seller and try to go after him through the correct authorities.

Mr Wantaporn, I am curious about something. Did you not ask the seller for the serial number before purchasing the watch? Did you see a picture of the warranty that showed the serial number beginning with Z? I cannot fathom paying $8100 for a Rolex without knowing the serial letter.

In the future you should always go everything! Ask to see all the paperwork and serial numbers. Especially if your shipping out of country, you can never ask too many questions or see too many pictures!!!!!!

I'm guessing OP is a new member who does not speak English well. Not knowing all the details of buying a Rolex online can make a transaction difficult.

Interesting questions. I purchased a watch (BNIB) from DavidSW and never thought to ask him for a pic of the warranty card or serial number. I thought I vetted him pretty well though and even spoke to him on the phone.

Do most people request this from trusted sellers, or is this because of the "special edition" of this particular watch?

Did you buy it without knowing what letter the serial started with? The OP is implying that he didn't know it was a Z serial until he received it.

Well, I did some research and answered my own question. The seller's ad clearly stated the watch was a Z serial, so that should have been no surprise to Mr Wantaporn. While there's no excuse for the seller to be non-communicative, I really don't understand what the OP''s issue is. The seller didn't lie to him. It's clear as day that the watch is a Z serial. Sounds like a possible case of buyer's remorse. Mr Wantaporn, please respond to this or it may be you who gets written up in the "Who's Who" section for making false accusations against good forum sellers.

Don't be juvenile. It's Wattanaporn not Wantaporn and is a common Thai name.

People have gotten flat 4 bezels at service. Just like they issue the 'stick' dials at service. They aren't rare.

I hope you are right but there's a famous snooker player called J. Wattana so the OP still could be having some fun or a very specialist obsession, and the jury is now out on him and his claims.

Some people here need to grow up. The OP name is quite common in his country. Any more comments along those lines will result in infraction points at the very least. This is supposed to be a friendly, international forum.

Hi everyone,

I'm actually the seller here and I'm very confused as to Mr. Wattanaporn's accusations. I listed the watch accurately and let him know that it was a Z serial with the flat 4 bezel. I explained that in my research prior to buying I found that Y, F, and some early Z's had the flat 4's. This is an early Z serial. He emailed me this morning and I replied this morning. Then he followed up with a call later today (the first I missed because I was in a mtg but he called back 10 min later and we connected). We talked for 10min and I re-explained everything to which he replied he was going to check with Rolex...which I totally encouraged him to do. So am honestly at a loss here since I have replied to every email and sent and also spoken with him over the phone. I have numerous sales done here with zero issues over the years so I'm a little taken aback by the false accusations. I have copies of emails and call logs if needed but I wanted to set the record straight here! Sorry for the long post!

Best,

-Carlos

CArlos, I know you are a straight shooter, and have had a few dealings with you in the past. You are a Man of Integrity, and i think the OP just got a little nervous, after waiting a few minutes and did not hear anything...

Not your fault. hopefully OP will post up some pics, and Really Enjoy his new ROLEX!

I see the Pictures, and it's a beauty. As far asthe Flat 4, I love it...

How to do I would like to return watch to the seller..

Since there is no basis to the claims this thread should be locked/ deleted IMHO as regardless of the the eventual outcome it will cast a shadow over the seller for many, just my opinion of course. Sellers deserve a fair go also IMHO and threads like this can effect them

Seems very obvious that OP's first language is not English. It's difficult to form any meaningful opinion without knowing the full facts but I suspect (especially having read the seller's post) that this is little more than a misunderstanding of the English language.

I do not mean to be disrespectful of the OP; his English is a billion times better than my Thai!

I think TRF is a great platform, and it is good to know that both buyer and seller have been able to connect. OP's first language is not English, so it may be a case of simple miscommunication. At this juncture, certainly not something that cannot be resolved - just need OP to clarify on whether he has been in touch with seller, and what the next action plan is.

Good luck to both parties in getting a quick resolution :-)
