Polar Explorer II 16570 no etched crown??

D serial polar Explorer II 16570. I've spent hours looking with a 10x loupe, lighting from all angles, low light, bright light, parallel to the glass from the 12 o clock, 6 o clock, you name it, even used a laser pointer. I am 99% sure there is no etched crown. Do I need to be worried here?

It is very hard to find on white dials.

There is a lot more to be concerned about on a watch than a difficult to find crystal etching.

I put my iPhone flashlight up to the side of the crystal and it glowed. Try that.

Tried the flashlight on the edge, actually all around, every angle and position I could think of, nothing. I truly think it's not there...

Did you buy it new? I believe some service crystals were installed for a time with no LEC.

Could be the crystal was changed at some time with an aftermarket crystal.

This is what I've been hoping to hear! This is my first Rolex and frankly, I don't know the ins and outs of what is considered acceptable to authenticity or what makes it tip over the edge into something I should worry about. I appreciate everyone's patience helping me understand this. I guess I'm a little hyper sensitive since I've thought for years about this before taking the plunge and want to be sure. Otherwise it's a beautiful watch all around, just what I had hoped for! I've adored it through the loupe today, the perfection and quality in things as simple as the font is such a treat. I'll be sending it for its first service under my ownership soon. Thanks again, I appreciate the input from you all.

Specifically it's a service crystal installed by the RSC. But if the watch came in for a broken/cracked crystal, chances are very good they would have recommended a full service to make sure there was no broken bits in the movement.

D series should be from 2005, and should not have a crown by default.
I own one from the same year (also D series), no crown present.

I would be more worried if I could see it quite easily so dont worry about it and its quite possible your D serial watch did not have a LEC when it left the Rolex factory..
