New clasps come polished?

Read it somewhere that newly made Rolex SS watches have polished clasp (inside). Is it true? The pic is the SD4k I bought last month, which arrived at the AD two days before I brought it home. So I supposed it was manufactured in 2016.

Relax. Bought my SD4K brand new from AD a couple of weeks ago and it's the same.

Clasp might have been made serveral years ago while other parts of the watch may be more recent. It takes a year to make a Rolex from start to finish remember. Or so I have heard.

Arrival at an AD does definitely not mean "just manufactured".

If you ask me you got the better looking clasp.

That thing probably sat in a warehouse somewhere for months.

I've purchased both polished and sand blasted within days of each in the past couple of months.

You should be happy you got the Non polish one. It feels more well made and solid then the polish one. I know it's the same metal etc. but the way it close and click it feels better. Think the hook part is a little different then the polish ones too .. the shape. I have both and I personally like the Non polish ones.

Looks like polished is the way of the future (sadly, for me, anyway). Although as with all things Rolex, it will probably take a good while for them to transition the old sand blasted clasps out.

The sandblasted clasp is better. Hides scratches rather than showing them on the polished clasp.

The 114060 I bought a couple of weeks ago had polished claps. Doesn't really matter for me though, either works.

My 2016 Sub C has polished but I much prefer the sandblasted one. Looks classier and higher quality IMO
