I went to my AD to see the new Air King and he had a Batman. I liked the Batman better but did not like the polished links on the bracelet. Is there an all brushed band that can replace it? Will a band from a new submariner fit?

No need to change, just brush the CLs. If you don't like it have them polished back to original.

I heard if you brush the PCL, RSC wouldn't service it. I maybe wrong.

No, incorrect. RSC can do the service for the watch without the bracelet.

Exactly! It's an expensive mod, but then you have both bracelets. IMHO the brushed bracelet and Glidelock make this the perfect watch!

I paid about $2400 for the 97200 bracelet/clasp for my BLNR....totally worth it.

Sourcing a bracelet could be difficult. If you are committed, then brush the PCL as recommended, though I'd say go to a pro to do it vs. doing yourself.

I also prefer the brushed look in general on the GMT:

Just get a everest rubber strap or swap with subC bracelet. Or pay 2k for a subC bracelet. The glidelock makes it worth it.

Believe it or not, this is actually what I'd do. Just get a sub-c no date preowned thats got a good band on it (can be refinished, really doesnt matter). You'll spend double but youll have the two watches and a really easy out of the sub-c whenever you want.

Yes, if you brush the bracelet, Rolex will absolutely refuse to service it. Your other option would be to buy a replacement Oyster bracelet and just have that one brushed, so you can send in the original when you need it serviced.

Yes, I would have a professional do it to maintain the continuity of the finish. Some Rolex ADs have an in-house watch tech or have experience polishing themselves. I would not do it myself.

I found an AD who brushed my GMTII bracelet for me while I waited. It took about 10 minutes and was at no charge. I was able to look it over carefully when done and IMO it looked like a factory finish.

As for RSC, I did speak with Dallas first. Although I was strongly advised to not brush the PCLs I was assured RSC would service the watch when needed. And.....they would not refinish the PCLs if I so requested. To date I have not had to send my GMT in so don't know if in fact this would be the case.

this exactly would be my choice, I exchanged it with the one from my sub and placed the sub on a nato.... IMHO I would not consider polishing an option... its a personal decision.

Don't remember if my jeweler used the GMT springbars, probably since I didn't get any back nor did I get charged but then again maybe I missed It....
