Rolex for tennis

Rolex surports Wimbledon for many years, will there be a rolex TennisMaster in the future for wearing during playing tennis instead of just for tennis star wearing for pictures?

I'm a casual tennis player, I think rolex is okay for golf but not for tennis. Any opinion?

Rolex are possibly the sturdiest luxury watches you can get. If AP can handle tennis, then a Rolex certainly can.

You usually don't hit with your watch hand anyway, so no more dangerous than going for a run.

Justine Henin used to play in a Rolex. Granted, she used a one-handed backhand, so it wouldn't get in the way much. I also have a one-hander, so it doesn't bother me.

I have had my watch for 31 years and until recently, always played tennis and platform tennis with it on. I virtually always wear it, so never thought to take it off for tennis. It's absolutely fine. If a watch can go to 100 meters (or further), I figure it can take my arm swinging or a little sweat. So far so good. I probably have averaged 75-100 tennis or platform tennis matches per year over that time.

The green and yellow insignia of the new AK reminds me of Wimbledon, one of the reasons I really like it. Perfect accompaniment to your strawberries and cream at Pimm's o'clock.

How would one expect a Rolex (Sub, for example) to do if wearing during Olympic Skeet?

The thing to watch out for is shock. Not sure if Rolex publicizes any shock resistance metrics.

Any platinum model, on the off-hand for balance, will do. If I'm playing a guy wearing a platinum Rolex on his racket side I know he's going to have trouble getting through the ball and going cross-court on me.

Thanks for noting that. The swiss do like their shooting sports so I would hope Rolex could stand up to that.

I don't think Federer wears a watch while playing does he?? Would have thought they would have him wearing it if Novak wears his RM, Stan wears his AP and even Serena wears her AP.

I 100% agree with you. I own a GMT master and play tennis on a weekly basis and it's in great condition. Nothing negative to report from it.

Just played some social tennis with my Hulk on last week. No issues at all. The Hulk looks very natural in that enviorment. I would say since the LVc isn't worn on the arm I am using to swing the racquet, it gets less impact than when golfing.

I've played tennis with and without my rolex. I have a two handed backhand, don't notice a difference on my backhand. The only issue I notice is when I toss the ball for a serve, just feels weird.

I always play with watches except real vintage pieces and never had any issue with Rolex, Omega or other brands.....

I have been playing tennis for years, 1 -2 times a week, with my Subs, Explorer II's, DJ's, GMT's etc. without any issues whatsoever.

Have learnt to take watch off before getting serious on the court, roadrash ain't pretty. Plus with fuzzy yellow balls, usually want both wrists free to wear fuzzy sweat soaker uppers :)

I've had my Explorer II for a couple months and always wear it while playing (3-4 times a week). Lots of sweating these summer days in Oklahoma. One handed backhand - the only proper backhand!:)
