Hello folks. Proud YMaster owner.. 1st and only Rolex.. Been on my wrist since 03. Hope to learn a lot about it here.. how to properly keep it in good shape, history, etc etc. Just reading it's nice to see good stuff about the design, etc above and beyond just about the bling bling. I consider them to be rather subtle clean looking watches in general. Classic without the flash.

I'll try.. It's your typical garden variety platinum face, "old style" clasp before they changed them a couple years ago. Has it's share of scratches of course. I always get a cringe when I bump into something. :)
It's Identical to the watch in post1 of this thread.. Face, band, clasp all like this one: http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....31&postcount=1 It's probably a sin, but on occasion I give it a good wash in the sink with regular hand or dish soap which I'll bet is a huge no no.. I dunno.. I always make sure to rinse as thoroughly as I can though. :) Hadn't thought to do it before but looking around the web for watch winders as I typically don't wear it on the weekends, so naturally it's dead by Monday. |

Also.. The green sticker on the back.. I removed it some years ago.. I hope I didn't just commit a mortal sin by that. I preferred the metal against my wrist instead of the sticker sticking to me. Did I mess up royally?

Hell, that's nearly grounds for banning. I hope you at least preserved the sticker in the Rolex box for posterity and so you can glue it back on when you go to sell the watch. That way it won't lose its value.

Awe man.. For real? Well I can see it.. Got the box, paperwork, receipt, insurance policy etc.. I'll have to look.. I think I might have actually had the good judgement I hope to keep the sticker in the box. hehehehe but ya never know. Might not have been a good synapsis moment on my part.

Babs, RockRolex is only joking, of course those stickers don't last forever, and so you did good I think you got the picture anyway. You're right it does feel a lot better with the stainless steel against the skin.

So I had some business this weekend and was pleased to see a couple other fellows wearing subs. Don't see so many around here, so it was nice to see some other guys who equally see the value in such a classic time piece.

Hey so long time no lurking. Still newly enjoying my yacht-master. New job and noticing the engineers are big watch guys. One GMT and another Sub owner so I’ve resigned to wearing my YM again. Feels good to wear quality again.
Since my last post she went to service in NY once. Was pleased she came back with a less grainy wind and they repolished it. So now she’s gotta re-earn daily scratches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Thanks guys. One thing I know I need though is a winder box. Any good recommendations for something budget friendly but well made welcome.

Edges of stickers collect various bacteria and other nastiness - good to not have the sticker on it.
