Buying from abroad - UK based
Has anyone here in the UK bought from a seller in the US or similar?
There are a couple of fairly attractively priced Royal Oak Chronos in the For Sale section, I was keen to understand if there are any hidden charges etc in importing a watch? Any help much appreciated |

My experience of buying from the US is that when the goods arrive in the U.K. You have to pay duty to customs. The duty is a % of the total price.

Many thanks, it was a lazy post, a bit of googling has taught me the same. Plus VAT. Perhaps not such an attractive option after all!

Ash is right - you'll pay a small flat fee for 'handling' and then a % of the total value of the goods.
There will also be a delay while they're being processed. I've had packages delayed by over a month because they just sit in the depot being examined. |

20% VAT is the killer, and with the pound now it's a serial killer on acid.
