How much is a rolex daydate 18956 worth?

I have a Rolex Oyster perpetual daydate with mother of pearl dial 18956. Can anyone tell me what the price range is? No certificate but maybe I can go to a ad to get one. Where would be the best place to sell it. Thank you.

How old is the watch? can you post a pic?

IMO the best place to sell it is in your local area through a one on one meeting. In todays economy it is much more difficult to sell a watch unless it is a high demand piece. It appears that even the highly sought after ss Daytonas are even haveing a tough time selling in this market

I am sorry to say that watch looks to be 100% fake.
The "trim" would never fall off like that!
Where did you get it from?

i see the hologram is good and the logo on the bottom of the 6 oclock can only be seen with magnifier. I looked at all the fake signs and cannot find any mistakes

Where did this watch come from?

There are some good fakes out there usually the SS types are better to copy but as i said from looking at your pics the look of this watch is not a true Rolex Day/date...i have owned and seen day/dates since 1982.

well firstly those trim parts would not fall off a rolex dial. secondly the rolex coronet on the face not in anyway resemble one on a genuine rolex. the pictures are not very good. i think the whole watch is fake but at very best it is just a fake dial. But why would there be a fake dial on a real rolex of that value- there wouldn't

Perhaps the diamond bezel and dial are aftermarket, if so, that really devalues the timepiece.

my best advice would be to take it to any rolex dealer- they will tell you in 30 seconds.

Are you sure that you have the correct model number? I believe thats the model number of a platinum, special edition day date with baguette diamond bezel.

Your grandfather gave you a $80,000 dollar platinum watch... !!

He is very generous indeed...

However, I think I would produce some better photographs if you really want it looked at, and take the back off...Just to make sure everything is OK...

And the bracelet and bezel is wrong for the Masterpiece 18956..

I wouldnt even attempt to remove the back yourself, when you have time go down to a AD and they'd be happy to check it over
