Antique Store Sheaffers

Found these at a local antique store this morning. I paid under $5 each so I did ok. One nib is marked F one nib is marked 304.

I am new at this so what do I need to make these pens write? Will they take a standard Lamy or MB cartridge? Do I need to clean them?

Happy New Year!

That is a first and second generation Sheaffer Cartridge pen. The first gen is the rounded end. To make them work soak the nib and section in water while you get some Sheaffer cartridges. Drop the cartridge in the barrel and then screw the section in place. If they are the new cartridges with the dimpled end, you will puncture the end without the dimple.

AbE: the 304 nib is also a fine nib (305 was a medium)
