Thinking about a Daytona.... but.

I've owned or currently own just about every "sport" watch in the Rolex collection except the Daytona. Being an avid waterman and trveler having Subs and GMT's fir my active lifestyle well. One od the reasons I have yet to delv into the Patek world is that I'm afraid they might not be able to withstand the rigors of an avaerage day on my wrist, and the same fear holds true for a Daytona.

With that being said, the white gold Daytona on a croc strap has always looked very apealing to me, but can the Daytona lineup take the same beating my 42mm Explorer II does?

Sure. The Daytona can take anything you throw at it, and more. Like all the so called 'sports' watches in the line up, it is a very robust piece.

But, the bezel is notorious for showing wear, and this is doubly true with the PM models. If that doesn't bother you, then have at it.

The Daytona can be a great everyday wearer!

The Daytona is great, but I don't recommend any leather strap for your water sports

The daytona is a tough watch. But I recommend it on a metal bracelet.

WG Daytona's are great value pre-owned with some stunning dial options, especially the Meteorite. The strap is dressy but buy a Rubber B as a sporty option.

The Daytona will be just fine, and will hold up for everyday activities including ones with a wrench and 4 wheels.
