Resolutions?

Any Rolex resolutions for this upcoming year?

Personally, I am hoping to only buy at most 2 Rolex watches this year. That means no flipping, but two straight up purchases.

DJ41 if it comes in SS. And a white DC if I happen to get that call.

Anything for you guys/gals?

All over the place with watches lately. Have my cherished gilt Sub up for sale. Have the modern bug of late, so moving my second to last 4 digit piece. Not even sure what I might get next...114060, 116600, 116710, 116618LB. Maybe a real dress watch?

Looking for a hard to find model for the wife. Probably be smart to source that one first, but not many have accused me of being smart She about fell over when I told her I was selling the Gilt.

Something will jump out at me sooner or later. I am trying to keep the collection smaller these days. Four or less, so that is a good measurable resolution.

Basel may open a can of worms but currently my target is set on the 116500 black, that should be it while saving for a DD40 obviously if a DJ41 in SS is released plans more then likely will change

To buy not a single Rolex this year, unless a Coke GMT in SS comes out.

Otherwise, I am sticking to the 5711 I have on order, and that's it for purchases this year

That is a damn good resolution.

Is it me, or has the 5711 gone way up in price over the last 18 months?

I have the same resolution I've had for years. Do something I've never done before. I try to live this philosophy often. Last year was the Platona and my first high end watch other than Rolex. I am still LOVING my AP. This year, well, you know what it is. I go this afternoon to finish the paperwork. There were some delays with the credit company last Saturday, so the deal will be complete tonight.

However, if the right watch comes along........

Here you go from Sunday morning...

New Year's Resolution

Sunday, January 1, 2017
7:30 AM

Jimmy Buffett said it best
About these New Year's solutions,
This year I choose with resolve anew,
to make no further resolutions.

I know that I'm pretty good
At keeping decisions made,
But never can I truly hope
without my higher power's aid.

So at this making of the year
Instead of lists to fail,
I'll not fill the page with wants heart felt,
My efforts spent to no avail.

Instead I'll offer up a prayer,
To a power greater than the rest,
To give me what He truly needs,
And help direct me in his quest.

No new watches for me, unless it's one incoming to replace TWO outgoings. I'm trying to minimize.

It has, and now that I've decided to go for one, I won't mind paying list at my AD for the blue.

My aim to find a Daytona C white dial without paying any premium. Failing that, I'll be content with a good preloved WG 116509 instead (black dial).
