DateJust II vs Milgauss
Hi all,
I ordered a Franck Muller Crazy hours that has given me nothing but issues and the jeweler has offered me the ability to send it back and get a new watch and a credit. I have narrowed my options down to the Date Just II with blue face and roman numerals and the Milgauss Blue Z dial. Would love an opinion from somebody who has worn or tried on both? Thanks, |

Can you go somewhere to try both of them on yourself?

I worry about trying on versus owning over an extended period of time. I feel that over time, one must feel, function and look better.

I had both the milgauss and the DJII, can't go wrong with either! I kind of missed the date when I had the milgauss. If this is your only watch you may want to consider the DJ. The Milgauss is very cool and I found the Milgauss to be better proportioned and more comfortable on the wrist. Ok, I've come to a conclusion....... If the DJ is fluted bezel, go for that. If it's smooth bezel go for Z blue Milgauss!

Thanks Watchgeek, it would be the fluted bezel if I got it. Your response is appreciated and if it changes your opinion, it wouldn't be my only watch. In my rotation I have the Panerai Pam 499, IWC Big Pilot, Breitling Super Avenger.

It really does need to come down to you having them on your wrist. The DJII lays flat and has a longer lug design. The Milgauss is thicker but sits nicer on a smaller wrist, so wrist size is a factor. Under 7 inch wrist, the Milgauss will fit better. It seems like you have a larger wrist, given the other watches in your collection.

Both great choices. The Milgauss is great and less common. The lack of the date function bothers me on the Milgauss. I'd go Dj.

I had to decide between both once. In the end, I went for the DJII for the date function and the elegant yet sporty design. I still love the Milhauss though, but it was the lack of date feature and the matte charcoal dial that swung me towards the DJII.

Btw, White Milgauss is a worthy contender if you can find one. I don't see White Milgauss as a downgrade.

Personally I'd likely choose the watch with lume over the Roman numerals. If the DJII had lume that would be my choice but since not I'd go for the Mil.

Milgauss.
Seen on-wrist much less frequently and the engineering is very cool. On a personal note, no one has ever commented on my DJ, not the case with the green-dialed Milgauss.

Not exactly the same, but nobody has ever commented on my sub, but have gotten a few compliments on my z-blue Milgauss. It just looks awesome, and it's cool having a watch that not a lot of people have.

I chose the Milgauss over the DJII, I felt it fit my wrist better, was more interesting, and at the time I did not care for the cyclops, so I wanted something with no date.
If you like both equally, I would say the Milguass is more unique. The lightning bolt hand isn't for everyone, but that's what makes it so cool. |

You should tried both on before you make any purchase. But if you can't my vote is with the Milgauss

I have the blue DJ however the white Milgauss is on hold for me.
Trying to decide if I need it. I'd vote white Milgauss, stunning as less seen out in the wilds. Had been thinking of cancelling, however this has refuelled my interest. Thanks |

I would not accept the cyclops magnification on that DJ in any event.
The Milgauss is far less common than the DJ and one if my favourites. But buy the GV.
