Questionable date wheel(s) - Explorer II 16570
I want to make it clear that I am not throwing around an accusation of them selling fakes because I am in no capacity an expert on these things and the different manufacturing dates might play a role, but I thought this was too important to pass up when I noticed it.
http://www.swisswatchexpo.com/Contro...ns-16570-12410 http://www.swisswatchexpo.com/Contro...ch-16570-12424 The above two listings are for 16570 Explorer II's that I was looking at on their website. What stood out to me is how this same reference number had distinctly different fonts on the date wheel. In the first listing, you can see that the 9 has a "hook" bottom where the tail bit curves to nearly pointing up at the tip. In the second listing, the 9 is both significantly flatter and it hugs the body of the upper, circular part of the 9 much more closely compared to the first one. |

Both are authentic. One is newer and one is older. Both same model numbers, however the date wheel font and dial had changed in later years.
