Closeups of whatn you love most!
Hey guys! I decided to take photos of my Sub after giving it a good scrub with a toothbrush, hot water, and some detergent. Now it's all nice and shiny!
I took the photos right after it dried, but apparently no matter how well you wash your Rolex, there's always tiny bits of dust that get on it immediately after. So that's as clean as I could get it for the photos. A fellow forum poster here requested that I include some photos of the exposed stem and seal, so here it is. You'll have to excuse me for all the out-of-focus parts, the depth of field is just so shallow at such large magnifications (even though I used f/36, for the photographers out there wondering). Is it me or is my seal not in good shape? Also something I noticed... when I put my watch back on, the flip lock on the clasp was very hard to close and almost impossible to open. I had a really hard time taking the watch off. I guess it's because I washed the watch and let it soak in hot water (too hot for my own hands) while the clasp was open, and then immediately put it in cold water to cool off. The steel expanded and changed form and then contracted again? When I finally managed to take it off, I put the clasp in some hot water again while it was closed and locked, and then let it cool again. Now it's not stuck anymore, I think now it's even easier to open than before. I didn't know hot water could do that to the steel; I mean no matter how hot the water was, it wasn't boiling or anything. Well, without further ado... www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO.jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(2).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(3).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(4).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(5).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(6).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(7).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(8).jpg www.youssefabdelaal.com/RLXMACRO(9).jpg I tried posting them as images in the thread and they wouldn't display, so I guess links will just have to do.

Something in the hinge or clasp was probably in a bind. The hot water won't "distort" the stainless steel.
Awesome pics! |

Looks great. What camera and setting do you need to get this close up photo?
