Longines Admiral ??
Does anyone have any idea what this may be worth?
I know its not a fortune but he still has the original box and wants to make a trade towards a knife I have and want to move...

Thats a nice watch. I like the knife too (I have always wanted a nice Damascus knife).

I would suggest getting a watchmaker to open it up and examining the movement. You should look for a movement number, so as to identify whether it is a 'manufacture' Longines movement.
There are a few notable independent watchmakers these days releasing new watches powered by vintage Longines movements, noted for their precision. You can always google the movement number for more information. |

This is a vintage watch obviously.
I do not have it in my hands nor am I able to get my hands on it without buying it to get the movement #. This is the original owner.... Just trying to get a ballpark idea as to value... I need to make him an offer, the blade he wants is worth $400 so I am trying to figure out how much extra cash to offer him.

I would say, and this is just a guess, that I wouldn't give him more than $350 total for the watch if you can't look it over inside and out. I mean, he gets to inspect the blade right? Better still, have an idea of your reserve and ask him to name a price then haggle him down.
At the end of the day, if you're not comfortable with the trade, don't go ahead with it. |

It should be in the $300 - $400 range. The gemstone indexes don't add much secondary market value. Most likely due for a service too, so factor that in.
Btw, I have a few 5 star Admirals:
