Most reputable dealers online
I am in a good financial position at present and am going to purchase another Rolex (perhaps 2) within the next 30 days and would like to know who you believe are the most reputable dealers online. I would like to seriously consider these models in pre-owned.
I have 4 ADs here in the Kansas City area, but would like to compare pricing with online dealers. None of my ADs sell pre-owned Rolex's. My considerations are a Date TT Sub and a Root Beer TT GMT. If I get a good enough deal I may purchase both. Please recommend your choice of websites or even eBay dealers. Thank you! Richard

My recommendations would be both swissluxury.com and alanfurman.com
I've done a lot of researching online and they both still have one of the best deals over the net. Even better than some ebay dealers. However, I always believe that the greatest looking prices are from private sellers selling mint condition watches in the classifieds here or on timezone. As for pre-owned watches, my recommendations would be none other than pre-ownedrolex.com and again, the classifieds here.

I wouldnt buy a Rolex online.. if it is a grey dealer I prefer to pay a face to face visit and pay with cash.. :-D However I did a research regarding some online stores due to attractive prices :-D Lots of people recommended Alan Furman... But again I have no personal experience.

My first watch, a quartz Tag 4000, came from Alan Furman about 15 years ago. I wore it daily until three months ago when I got a GMTIIc, but one thing always bothered me - the second hand is not aligned with the markers. To this day, it bugs the hell out of me. That is why I bought my Rolex from an AD, paid MSRP, and have no regrets.

Furman is in my area. While I haven't used them, many of my friends have done so and have been impressed by both the service and prices. One even had a warranty issue (big reason some favor ADs) and they came through with flying colors.

If buying new, stick with an AD....you'll get almost the same price, but with peace of mind. For used, go to the For Sale section here on TRF. I'd say there are always things floating around there that are valid from decent people.

I think you should try: Wannabuyawatch.com. The owner is Ken Jacobs. His vintage store in LA was one of the first in the country.

Try Meierotto's in Gladstone. He is an AD and he sells pre-owned. Ask for Tylor.

I got a great watch from them. See my other posts on them. He wrote a book on Rolex too. Fast. Professional. Competitively priced.

I know this thread is old but I would def recommend Meierotto's Midwest Jewelry (ask for Tyler). I just picked up a 16610LV from them today and had a great experience. Customer for life.

Please understand that none of the on line dealers are AD's. If you are buying new you are betting gray market. You might want to try several of the dealers on this site: David SW, Mosco, BodyBump, etc.

I picked up my Expy II on Ebay for about $1k less than its value at the time. The seller was frustrated he didn't get higher bids. If you're savvy, you can find good deals.
It was my first Rolex, and still working great. |

Am I missing something ? just check the sellers on this site
Edit: didn't see how old the thread is. But still, check here before you seal the deal any where else
