Phoenix | Arizona | Authorized Distributor HELP!

Firstly, Love the forum, unfortunately a lurker still, but not for long. Amazing group and awesome info, it has helped innumerably. What I've taken away from it can't be described! Thank you all for that, truly.

I've isolated it to the 114060 in the near future! This will be my first Rolex!

Anyway, given I'm ready to go, I was wondering, of the AD's in the overall Phx area, does one stand out above the rest? Is there one that just, tips the scale? Like don't bother with any other.

I've searched and searched trf/wus general gooooogle, read the reviews, and then some trying to narrow it. I planned on simply visiting the handful that are here, but I'd like to avoid wasting my time as well as theirs if they're all going to be at 7500.

I'm hoping for some info, any info, you may have on which AD I should start (and potentially end with). When visiting, I will be able to pull the trigger on the spot, but I've read so much about discounts, never buy on the first visit, dress up, don't dress up, you get sized up... just want to get it right.

I'll second Robert Wesley. They helped me with a springbar issue back when I had my SD. I'll also throw out Coffin & Trout. I went browsing one day and they were very pleasant.

I purchased from Leo at Coffin & Trout before. Very pleasant experience and he offered various discounts based on payment type.

^^^ Thank you.

While I love negotiating / back and forth, and have read / studied enough to not come off as a complete dumbass w/ rolex... ( by listening and keeping my mouth shut, i believe ) I don't get carried away in the least. I'm still a bit intimidated with a device of this price and the setting. Despite that fact that the spend isn't an issue. The issue was the dinky watch to my wife ( who is now good with it ) was the primary hiccup! I

I'm not really certain how to "get to" the discount aspect. Normally I'd just ask, what's my cash bottom line or etc, but some how that seems too simple or fails, when reading the many posts.

I like C&T

Even though I was just browsing, he offered a discount to me as well.

Don't be afraid to ask about a discount. Just say, "can you offer a lower price than this?" or "is there a discount based on cash or wire transfer?". That will get you the 1st offer. Maybe it will be 10%, maybe nothing if the reference is particularly popular.

After that, it's up to you if you have the charisma or will to push for a bigger discount. That's when you can play hardball, bring up grey market prices, prepare to walk out, etc but the whole experience gets less pleasant at that point.

Guess i should've just asked if anyone had a bad experience anywhere. The few ADs in town all seem really good.

Robert Welsey or if your in the market for pre-owned, E.D. Marshall usually has a good selection.

Another vote for Robert Wesley. Robert Wesley JR. does most of the Rolex transactions. He offers some discounts. The dealer on North Scottsdale road (around Tbird) is strictly MSRP.

I'm surprised more AZ folks aren't chiming in but i'm sorta the same way... 'been there done that' but it's really helpful guys!

I like RW in old town per the reviews, i've avoided bugging AD's. I like they are historic and they are family, mom and pop. However given the cost new, a discount is easy to set the hook for a buyer at any AD.

While there are several trusted sellers on here that I'd be good with, along with ( I think ) The Estate jewelry and watch co. (in scottsdale) my wife is pretty much pulling my strings... she says " i don't care if you buy a rolex, but i has to be from a ' a real store ' (AD) / LEGIT, with full provenance and history, your name on all docs. Fair enough, i'm still winning.

Coffin and Trout. Dean is a nice guy there. They give good discounts. Even on SS Daytona.

I used to work for Ben Bridge, so I'm totally biased, but you will get THE BEST service from either Matt or Douglas at the Fashion Square mall in Scottsdale. Especially if you tell them I referred you. They're still like family to me even though I've been gone for 5 years. Just go talk to them... you'll see

Just bought the BLNR from Hyde Park Jewelers today. Great people working in there. Had a great conversation with Paul about all sorts of watches and where I see my collection heading. They gave me a Wolf watch winder that retails for over $300 with the BLNR. Also, if you enroll in their rewards program, which is free, the add on another year to the warranty.

My best advice for you is to pay with cash and bring it with you on the day you decide to purchase. Don't even think about talking pricing until you're ready to pull the trigger, and when you do, ask for 15% because once they see that cash they won't want you to leave without getting that money. Don't even try it on (do that at another AD or earlier visit) just ask to speak to the manager and tell them exactly what you want. Be polite and don't flash the money in their faces but definitely show it to them.

Now 15% is a bit much for a 114060 as I'm sure most will agree. If it was me I would start with asking for 20% having 15 in mind to come down to, but that's because there are many ADs in my area and cycling through them once or twice to get the best price is worth it to me. As for your situation you do what feels best...but definitely start with 15% off, and if you feel that is reasonable, leave the store if they wont meet you there. Good luck.

What about the following assuming I can't pull off the discount.

I mentioned to a reputable shop I've used many times and have a relationship with what i was interested in picking up and they said they can get me brand new, name on warranty at 7200 otd. Thoughts on this as an option?

Try one of the ADs with cash in hand and see what they can do. If they can't beat $7200, you know your choice.

Glad I found this thread. I'm heading to Hamra's on Scottsdale Road by Greenway-Hayden tomorrow because it's right down the street from me, but I'll be sure to check out Robert Wesley in Old Town as well.

Has anyone ever had an appraisal done at an AD in Scottsdale/Phx?

Hamra's wants $150 and 2 weeks so I figured I'd shop around.

f/u.

So shoulda posted a week or so ago but w/o all the details and some off putting experiences of ad's locally... Robert C Wesley in Old Town Scottsdale AZ, FTW! Simply put, Robert C. Wesley, and Lyndell Garcia particularly, made it a completely stellar experience. I ended up with a GMT rather than a Sub. It was truly a great experience for a first time buyer and they've easily secured a customer for long into the future. Folks in Az should certainly regard this place as the first and last stop, imo.
