How to value a rare vintage?
So I have a problem. I have a watch I don't really want anymore. But I don't even know where to start valuing it. It is a 40mm '68 Tudor Day Date TT all original and has only been serviced twice. It sat in a drawer for 40 years and took a couple of services to get it back running well after drying out.
Problem is my version is almost non-existant, I cant even find a picture of my model online. I can look at other Tudors and what they sell for but none are even close to mine in look or quality. How do I start to value it? Where is a good place to go? |

Watches are like stock- it's worth what it sells for, and that's about it.
Based on similar models you have an all park by now. Put photos and an asking price in our for sale section and the pm offers you get will also be a good guide. And you will pocket the most. You have a lot of fees with eBay so selling there for the same, or even slightly more your net gain will probably be less. So, let's see it! |

Jim,
I may do just that and list it. Put a price a little high and see what offers I get. I don't normally list things that way. I usually post a value - 10-15% just to move it. Asking high just to gauge demand is different for me. I'll post some pictures when I put it up for sale, I don't want to be subverting the FS rules here and this become a FS thread. More looking for some advice, which you gave! |

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=6466092 $2 - $4.5k depending on collectibility condition, boxes, papers, original band, history etc... buy a $25 pledge and list it as a OBO sale in the classy's and see what you get offered. good luck. |

Oh didn't notice you weren't a pledge (mine has expired too!)
Pledge and list. Tudor gets some love around here and I beleive another member was interested in a day date recently. |

1) Go to vintage section.
2) Post pictures (decent quality) and ask there. |
