Everest Strap

Hey guys quick question. I am thinking about purchasing an Everest Rubber strap with a tang buckle (if I can finally justify spending $225 for a rubber strap lol.) My question is would you guys recommend buying a set of Bergeon 7825 pliers or would the spring bar tool Everest sells suffice? If I do get the Everest spring bar tool would I run into an issue chipping the lugs seeing as it only removes one side at a time?

Any of you guys who have a rubber strap what do you all use to remove your oyster? I only ask because the Burgeon is much more expensive than the Everest spring bar tool.

Thank you all in advance

The Bergeon 7825 is worth every penny. Much easier to remove the springbar when you can compress it from both ends. And much easier to reinstall.

The trick is to lay the watch dial down, compress the spingbar with the 7825, then move the head away from the bracelet, not the other way around. Reverse the process to re-attach.

All of this right here!

Cool thank you very much. It seemed very useful from the video I watched.

Absolutely correct.

I have the 7825 and the one from Everest. 7825 is easier and much less chance of slipping or scratches.

Hi Anthony

I can't give you much help on the spring bar tool (other than to say pliers make it much easier and with less chance of damage to the lugs)

What I would say is to hold off buying an everest strap until you've had a look at the Rubber B straps. I had one on my RG Daytona and it was fantastic.

There's been some chat on here about Everest buckle straps tearing and poor customer service which would put me off.

I'd not hesitate to purchase another Rubber B however

Thanks for the heads up. I came to the consensus that Everest was the better of the two products (after searching these forums.)

I did see that issue of the strap tearing near the buckle hole and the CEO of Everest rectified the situation (albeit after quite some time and hassle.) I will check out Rubber B as well, thank you again for your reply

Just my two sense.... Rubber B is made in Switzerland and was worth the price for me. everest rubber straps are asian made . Their rubber bands have no swiss marking on them.

Agreed, would much rather have a strap swiss made. Everest may not be phony but having no swiss marking on it is like losing credibility.

Asian made? Where did you hear that? See below from Everest website.
I have dealt with Everest and their customer service has been great!

I love the look of the rubber straps on the Rolex Sports watch. But I can't believe how expensive they are! $200+ for 2 pc of rubber?! I would do it maybe for $75 max. I guess I will just have to get one that comes with it.

I bought both a RubberB and Everest tang rubber strap last year, so here are my thoughts:

- I have 7" wrists, so I prefer the shorter length of the RubberB, but I do like that the holes are placed closer together on the Everest.

- The RubberB is stiffer, but the Everest feels a little stickier to me, and the black is a lighter shade.

- I prefer the shape of the RubberB, which is more like the Oyster bracelet.

- The clasp of the Everest is more robust, but I find it a little bulky for my 5-digit watches. The RubberB's is a better size to me, but it sticks out a bit. I use a 3rd party tang buckle on both.

- Customer service seems great from both, and Everest sent a nice strap bag as a gift.

Ultimately, I prefer the RubberB, at least for my wrist size and watch.

This is the first time I hear of bad customer service from Everest. They have been nothing but exceptional with everyone I know that has dealt with them.

OP: Get the springbar pliers. Cheap O springbar tools are only good if you have lug holes.

Agree.

I find the Everest a better product as well.

That tool is worth every penny. Makes strap changing so much easier on a modern Rolex.

I've owned Rubber B and Everest but prefer Everest. The Everest rubber is a lot more comfortable IMO. And as far as I know from their website, their entire line is made in Switzerland. I use them on my BLNR and Sub and love them.

My Google Foo is weak and shows $149 or more. Where can these Bergeon pliers be found at the best price?

Just put a Rubber B on my Expy2. Had to call customer service and they were awesome. Extremely helpful! I used a springbat tool and it worked just fine without any damage. Off Amazon I purchased a watch repair kit. Came with more than enough tools and did the job. PM me with any questions.

Been thinking of picking up a set as well. Is this the right item?

Also, I have nothing but good things to say about my Everest. Just ordered a second one in a different color.

Just bought my first Rolex this week. SubND. Already ordered the rubber bracelet from Everest after reading many reviews between Everest and RubberB. Picked it up on Amazon to use my Amazon price store card and get 5% cash back. I went with black one to use the Rolex clasp. Can't wait to get it.

I have a Rubber B on my watch at the moment, but the customer service at Everest is great. In sum, study both brands, but don't be afraid to buy the Everest based on a customer service issue.

P. S.

I use a Bergeron 6825-PF.

Whether using pliers or regular spring bar tool, it helps to tape the lugs to avoid scratches. I usually use blue painters tape.
