Going Independent
Was looking for a new dress watch (with date) and all the usual suspects from major high end brands felt kind of meh. Then I saw this one from a very old but not prolific watchmaker and decided to go for it. Not many around (serial number blacked out only has two digits). Thanks to Martin Pulli in Philadelphia for finding it for me.

Huge congrats. I've never seen an UJ in the flesh, but have always admired them. Really interesting that Voutilainen builds and finishes the movements.
Coincidentally, I'm going to be in Philly next week and was planning on dropping in to Martin Pulli on Saturday; hopefully he has more in stock, so I can finally see them in the metal. It seems like the perfect type of shop for me. Huge congrats again. |

I haven't seen one in person but I have heard good things about the brand.

It's a beauty. Like some of the others I've not seen one in the flesh but having handle a few from Kari if they are anything close then I'm sure I'd like them too!

40mm and wears true to size - the case band is convex and the bezel is concave but quite thin. The dial has a fantastic texture that is not well captured on my Iphone photo due to the grenage ("graining") technique utilized.
